Yes, most football stadiums.

Jerry World does a fantastic job of keeping their calendar full compared to other sports arenas.

ETA:

Not saying its a "great investment", just saying its better than most stadiums.

Like a 3 week span in October they had 3 full football games, 2 pro and 1 college, and a sold out Taylor Swift show.

In the 4 weeks prior to that, they had 4 football games, 2 college and 2 pro, an international soccer friendly with Mexico (popular among local demo), and another sold out country show.

So in those 7 weeks, that is 10 big events, only 2 shy of your "12 that even busy stadiums" host in a year?

That seems like a low number on events b/c just w/football I can think of at least 12 games off the top of my head that are played there every year w/8 Cowboys games, A&M/Arky, Tech/Baylor, the Cotton Bowl, and the season kickoff matchup (this year its Bama/USC)

don't forget the high school games... funny how stadiums in Texas have so many games throughout the season and Louisiana college stadiums and the Dome have almost none except for the state championships

Well, that could be because Texas has 20 million more people than Louisiana

no, that's not why...

as for college stadiums in LA hosting HS, a few of the smaller schools do, but Tulane hasn't had a HS game in their stadium since it was built, and i can't remember LSU ever hosting one since i started following HS football. the Dome used to host a lot of games until the 90s... but they've gotten greedy

The Louisiana Superdome was one of the best investments the State could have made.

Not surprising. We are talking about an organization that employs a guy who ran over another human beings head intentionally. Now the higher ups want to run over the taxpayers head.

The Arlington rangers are the worst kinds of people.

A WFAA-TV investigation, however, has found taxpayers may instead pick up to 80 percent of the tab, which amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars more than initially promised by city leaders.

Can't believe this is still happening after the 90's.

Build us a stadium tax-payer and then we will charge you exorbitantly on the back-end to get into the stadium that you built.

They do. But with all the taxpayer money given to Jerry and the Rangers, it hasn't registered more than a blip on the local Arlington or DFW economy. There has been very little real estate development around the stadiums even though that was the promise by the owners when they had their hands out for the hand outs. The fact is the fundamental economics of Arlington do not demand new development regardless of new, shiny stadiums.

Tulane can't have more than one game on a weekend, it was part of their deal with the neighbors who fought the development and building of Yulman Stadium, In addition, only so many of those can be night games because the neighbors bitched about too many night games and having stadium lights on at night.

Meanwhile, Zephyr Field will host a whole bunch of games this coming season.

Yeah, gladiator bouts on the Ocho are awesome!

I also think Rome got more than 20 years out of the Colosseum

I wonder who the Jerry Jones of Rome was, would be hilarious to discover the guy who got the Colosseum built was some a-hole from the sticks of ancient Italy.

Where in downtown Dallas would you put it? Somewhere near the AA Center between 35 and the Trinity River?

Maybe the old Reunion Arena site?

If the Rangers move to downtown I'll never buy season tickets again.

I like being able to get out of Dallas to go to a game, especially being able to park my car there and it not being a bloodbath trying to leave.
