I was excited to have Yuengling as the cheap beer option when I went to live in Virginia for a few months last year - but it got pretty old after a couple of weeks.

"Beer guys"? You mean liquor stores, right?

Not excited, myself. There are many better beers out there. In MY opinion, there are better beers brewed locally than the beer with the funny/cool sounding name.

for the price, it's a fantastic alternative to bud, miller, coors, etc.

Yuengling tastes horrible to me. I can't finish one. Same thing for reasonably corrupt and other popular "craft beer" lagers. If I'm sitting poolside with only a lager as my choice, I'll crush a twelver of Miller lite.

Some of their bottles are good, though none are worth the price. It would be a one or two per year kinda thing.

It's on their fb page. Louisiana is marked as 'pending'.

No, I mean on-premise beer salesmen.

Also, not sure I know anyone that plans to drink Yuengling bc it has a funny/cool sounding name. I'd also say that at the price point and category that YL is in, it's a solid beer. It wont be marketed as local, or craft beer.

They have let the IPA craze ruin lagers. I'll tell you two good ones though - St. Arnold's Summer Pils and Sierra Nevada Nooner.

Without a doubt. Ever since I started drinking IPAs, I can't stomach lagers. I'm pretty sure something must have changed with all the lagers, because it couldn't possible be the fact that my tastes changed...

Hmmm... might buy a few here or there for a beer share, but just can't get behind their prices.

Their barrel house in Portland is pretty badass though.

Right. I know no one who likes it because it has a "cool" name. It's a simple beer that's going to compete with your regular domestics. Many people prefer it to those other domestics at a similar price point. This isn't going to be some sort of reinvention of the wheel or something brand new and earth shattering.
