Has no effect on anything, idiot. Was a one time problem that was corrected.

The problem is that they award cities that get new stadiums or do drastic renovations. ATL: New Stadium. LA: New Stadium.

Miami is doing a 400 million reno. The Superdome will need to do another drastic renovation in order to get more than one. I think it will get one more and that will be all she wrote. NOLA will never get another SB after that unless a new stadium is built.

The NFL will just cycle through newer stadiums.

There are too many state of the art stadiums popping up. Could be a long time until New Orleans gets another Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl has become an award for a city to build a new stadium (or a substantial renovation). They might as well just admit it.

Just stop with the foolishness of the bid process. When a team gets approval for a new stadium, just slot them in for the next open Super Bowl, and be done with it.

NOLA made it to the finals against a new stadium for the 18 game and again for the 19 game. Owners like having it in NOLA, but they like rewarding new stadiums even more.

If we ever get a year in which there is not a new stadium competing, NOLA is a lock, but I don't see that happening.

The power outage sucked but New Orleans is universally loved as a Super Bowl city. Pundits across the country like the ability to go everywhere on foot within the city coupled with the entertainment available.

I mean it is a crime-ridden place no doubt, but it is built for things like the Super Bowl.

Except it's the best site to host a super bowl. People love it for the food drinking and historical aspects.

I've even heard national pundits say it should be the permanent site.

Sorry. I'm talking about new Orleans.

I think NOLA's a great place to host the game.

we're a victim of our own success... everyone wants to host big events now because NOLA does so well with it

Absolutely. There's really no surprise here that a new facility won the "bidding" process.

Its pretty much the best.

However, the NFL couldn't give two fricks about that. The Super Bowl will make them a bunch of money no matter where it is. shite, its going to be in Minny in fricking February soon.

This is just another tool to ransom new stadiums and subsidies out of cities and states, especially now with the specter of a move to LA essentially gone.

After the Raiders move to Las Vegas, there's not many viable cities for a team to move to. So, you want 2 Super Bowls in, say, 10 years? Build a stadium. Wait, the team pays for it? LOLNo.

You're crying because a bigger city building a new billion+ stadium got the Super Bowl.

Get it together. New Orleans gets its share of big events and then some, and I'm sure it will again.

No surprise to any of that.

Vegas will get 2022 if the Raiders go there.

Atlanta deserved it over New Orleans, IMO.

They have a brand new stadium, which will be one of the nicest in the NFL, and they pay the power bill.

This is exactly it. The NFL just rewards the city for putting millions to build the stadium, It has nothing to do the condition of the stadium or how modern it is. The game its self is an after thought for the NFL, the week before is all the NFL and sponsors care about. New Orleans blows everyone else out of the water when it comes to Super Bowl week.

I don't know if you're being serious or ironic (I'll assume the former), but fans of New Orleans have no room to talk. I believe there was a massive power outage in the middle of the Super Bowl down there a mere 3 years ago.
