I don't think people get how well Brees played those last 4 games.

Pretty crazy how efficient he was with that foot injury.

Easy to put up stats when you know you're not in the playoffs..

Oh btw

Antonio Browns rookie season he had Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, Antoine Randle El, and Emanuel Sanders higher than him on the depth chart. Not hard to see why his stats were subpar. Second year and thereafter he was top 2 receiving.

Fair enough, but Cooks is not a "scrub" as you described. He has been nothing but good for us besides w/ screens. And yeah, he doesn't like contact, yada yada. I think he'll get better with that as the years pass by.

You know damn well im not talking about LSU fans. Dude nobody knows Cooks outside of N.O. , please get that through your head. You are overrating this average receiver.

Likewise around the league Jarvis Landry is already highly respected and seen as one of the best in football.

While Cooks is just some average guy Brees makes look good

Let me say this once again. No one knows or respects Cooks other than saints fans. If you ask me Cooks is one of the worst players in the NFL dude is simply no good

My description of the pick is "solid".

He very well could be awesome, but as least you know you've got a solid football player with an excellent work ethic.

Some of the guys left are questionable m

"I'm glad we don't have to play him twice a year and he's not in our division," Belichick said after the Patriots' 26-24 win. "He's a really good player."

Yeah Cooks is real average lol

I think that's proven to be one of the bigger offensive needs. We operate best when we have 2 vertical threats that can create an umbrella for the intermediate routes.

This thread is a good filter for the upcoming season. Get to see who's opinions are actually worth a damn.

It's amazing that after all these years people don't understand the structure of our route trees, and how it works.

My favorite was when people called Moore our slot receiver.

Some more fun stats:

quote:

According to Pro Football Reference, Cooks’s 45 targets when at least 20 yards downfield were the seventh-most in the NFL, and his role as the Saints main deep threat looks all the more important when you remember that No. 2 receiver Snead had less than half of the number of deep targets Cooks did.

8.84 yards per target is a pretty crisp total for a No. 1 receiver, and Cooks did a nice job of snaring about 65% of what Brees threw his way. And with a lower drop rate than the likes of Jarvis Landry and Anquan Boldin, Cooks didn’t let many of the chances Brees sent his way go to waste, which is important for a player who earned a team-high 129 targets.

quote:

For Cooks, the key was greater consistency, and that’s exactly what he achieved in the second half of his second season. It’s hard to remember the last time Cooks had a truly poor performance, and the fact that he’s caught more than half of his targets in every game since Week 4 serves as a reminder of this.
