And while you nasty mouth mothersuckers want to downplay every player we draft, Cooks turned out quite well. (And most of you hated that pick too. In fact, some of you still think he's trash )

The point is: Trust the process, gentlemen. We just drafted one of the best interior defensive lineman in this draft and an instant contributor. He has no red flags or question marks and will be a great starter for this franchise for years to come.

I like the pick, but the saints have one of the worst draft histories over the last several years.

funny he compares him to Cooks.

plenty of really good WRs went after Cooks was picked.

plenty of good DTs will go after Rankins.

Dont hate the pick at all. Just wish they'd have a little more foresight.

Cooks is decent but not the play maker he was billed to be.

Just scored 8 touchdowns in the last 8 games. Went over 100 in 3 of the last 5 games.

Guy was on an absolute tear to end the season. Once Brees got healthy, those 2 clicked. A big reason Brees had that amazing stretch to end the season.

I like the pick

But the Saints haven't earned our draft trust. How many all time terrible defenses is one regime allowed?

People were thinking he was this explosive guy after the catch. Thats the main issue I have with him. Hes a very good deep threat.

I agree, but this is a much safer pick than we normally go with on defense.

I'm pretty excited about the young guys from last year too

Maybe it is blind faith, but I feel good about our strategy so far under Ireland (outside of Grayson )

Yeah and he's the only one left from that draft. Better do better these next few days!

I think it's a solid pick at a minimum, and at a position we desperately needed depth and talent at. What's not to at least like?

The question now is where to go next. I like returning to D-line at DE or O-line, that's my preference. Depends on the type of defense we will run (I believe we're looking at a 3-4?). But again, this first choice was at a consensus position of need, made sense, was solid. I mean...it ain't bad at all.

Well rankings won't have a hof qb throwing him the ball.

Definitely agree with you that the Saints felt they got a high character player who can come in and make an impact on the field and also add to the culture of the locker room.

Sad that some people have to be convinced that drafting one of the top defensive linemen available was a good move for the Saints.

He continually mentioned Rankins ability to rush the passer. Nkemdiche is the only one of the other DTs picked so far with interior rushing ability and he has inconsistent effort and off the field problems.

Yep, it is a pivotal point for our franchise. It will determine whether we have a chance to possibly compete for another title with our HoF QB.

It is a shame we got to this point, but I'm liking the rebuild.

Very true, but I like having him paired with Cam Jordan, Ellerbeast, and the Pineapple Express (along with Fairley for the year). We are finally going to have some type of interior push that we've been desperately missing.

I'm sure we'll run a lot of hybrid looks given our personnel.

Not this clown. Aren't you like a Falcons fan in disguise? Your intelligence level gives it away

Need I remind you Antonio Brown didn't really come into his own until Year 4. Give the guy some time.
