I hope the retardation in this thread is contained in this thread, not the board.

Jesus. Let this thread be the grillnut quarantine.

You laugh but we know how this franchise can dip when we make reactive moves, rather than proactive moves. I don't think we've made a proactive move in the Loomis/Payton regime.

Granted Armstead feels a little different because of his age, but the front office has lacked foresight and it has bit us too many times in the arse.

hey i love Armstead. Jimmy Graham was a once in a generation TE, too. We had to sell cause we were so fricked as a franchise. And its not even like the best player in the draft at his position was sitting there to replace him.

Yea, the big contract was proactive....

Big difference in having a franchise LT and a luxury player in Graham.

Some more fun stats:

quote:
According to Pro Football Reference, Cooks’s 45 targets when at least 20 yards downfield were the seventh-most in the NFL, and his role as the Saints main deep threat looks all the more important when you remember that No. 2 receiver Snead had less than half of the number of deep targets Cooks did.

8.84 yards per target is a pretty crisp total for a No. 1 receiver, and Cooks did a nice job of snaring about 65% of what Brees threw his way. And with a lower drop rate than the likes of Jarvis Landry and Anquan Boldin, Cooks didn’t let many of the chances Brees sent his way go to waste, which is important for a player who earned a team-high 129 targets.

quote:
For Cooks, the key was greater consistency, and that’s exactly what he achieved in the second half of his second season. It’s hard to remember the last time Cooks had a truly poor performance, and the fact that he’s caught more than half of his targets in every game since Week 4 serves as a reminder of this.

Nope. Doesn't matter. Believer504 and brandincookem says he a bust because he isn't the best WR in the league after his 2nd year. That's all that matters. Let's forget the fact that he was one of the youngest players in his draft class and improved across the board in his 2nd season. Shame on him for just putting up 1100 yds and double digit tds in his 2nd season. He's not Antonio Brown so he sucks.

Please stop disrespecting Ab like that. Cooks cannot make anything happen after the catch, AB can. In fact that's why he's loved.

In 2014 I was told Cooks does this also, I was also told he was better than Odell Beckham and I was a homer for saying otherwise

Now again when Cooks was drafted we expected a guy who can make something out of nothing as AB can. We can't run a screen to Cooks for shite, Ab takes that for 10+ yards easily while eluding tacklers. Cooks will go down asap, or avoid the tackle.

Cooks is simply not the player he was billed as.

Stop talking about BS stats nobody gives AF about that. He is soft, he is not a game breaker, he is afraid of contact. This is the issue

Players don't suddenly wake up with skill sets that they have never possessed just because it's their 3rd or 4th year. Brandon cooks will never be anywhere close to the player Antonio brown is, he just doesn't have the skill set to do so. He will be good, but not Antonio brown good.

Cooks is a better player than Landry.

More speed, more versatile with routes. And I love Landry, he's a really good player.

He's younger than some of the WRs in this draft. TO say he cant get better is just ignorant
