I was going to ask if you have ever measured blood sugar before and after eating the 500g of carbs. Do you feel the need to nap afterwards? I get your trying to spike to drive muscle growth, just curious. It could be a good and cheap n=1 experiment.

Heck, I may get one and just document my response after certain foods

I'll do it tomorrow just for you. And yes I have pretty much every time I do the psmf and do the refeed. Like I said it usually spikes quickly then drops even quicker. I'll post pics and macros with blood glucose measurements tomorrow throughout the day.

For the crust I used

2 cups of fresh cauliflower (pushed through food processor)
2 eggs
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
Salt
Oregano

Did you just form it out of that? Did you cook the cauliflower first? Par boil or anything?

Because almost every recipe I've read says to squeeze all the excess moisture out with cheese cloth or something?

I'm going to make that tomorrow most likely

Put in food processor then stirred it around on the stove on low heat for about 5 minutes. Probably could've gone longer.

I have zero cooking skills so I don't really know.

I also let the cauliflower sit in a drainer for a while after I rinsed it so it wouldn't be too wet.

Just took it , it was 70. I will update after I complete this depletion workout I'm about to do. Same all day tomorrow.

Also I will be loading creatine and using vinegar to help the reglycogenation process.

So I finished the depletion workout about an hour ago. Glucose was at 61 so almost a 10 point drop in less than two hours. I'll check it again in the morning and do measurements.

So plan for tomorrow is wake up, weigh and get measurements. Then gonna do another depletion workout. Then gonna chow down on a huge homemade steak and egg burrito. Have 16 oz of ribeye that I trimmed and cut up while ago(felt like an a-hole cutting off all the fat). So it will be

16oz ribeye
16oz diced and smothered baby red potatoes( in the oven now)
3 tortillas
2 whole eggs plus whatever egg whites I need to make the burrito
1 whole sautéed onion
Salsa

So about 200g carbs here.

After church gonna go to izzos and get an illegal that has the following macros

So that puts me at 550. I will then eat 20oz of thin spaghetti noodles by make my a low fat lo mein. This will put me at close to 1000g of carbs for the refeed. I will monitor blood glucose levels and weight. I will do a tension workout tomorrow night with tons of time under tension to take advantage of the refeed. Hoping I can incline the 100s for at least 3 sets of 6.

Not gonna lie tonight was miserable. I only had 8oz chicken on a salad with very very little dressing. So really for the day almost zero carbs and zero fat and that was eaten at 1pm. At one point I had to stop the workout as I was getting nauseous and strength was gone quickly. I did 8x8 of squats with 135 and my legs have been shaking ever since. Also when I was dicing the potatoes, I went to grab the olive oil to sprinkle on and my hands were shaking so bad I dropped and broke a brand new bottle.

Hopefully tomorrow is worth it. I will post everything including pics from before, last week, tomorrow morning and then tomorrow night after the workout that will show the difference once muscles are nice full. Hoping for the 180s(-9lbs) and over 3 inch off my waste. We shall see though, either way I am staying the course.

Hulk, every damn week. You said you didn't have much going on, wtf? You really need to think about doing something drastic as far as life style change or you are never going to get to where you want. Sorry if I am being hard on you and an arse but honestly it's only the second week of January and you already fell off the wagon and it's always the drinking.

Be honest with yourself and put it here to hold yourself accountable, what's more important getting to your ideal weight and getting your health in order or having drinks to make sure you have fun while being social?

But honestly look at where you started, where you got to, where you ended back at and where you are now. I mean bottom line is you have been at this for like two years and two years is enough to go from extreme obese down to 10% and right now I'm not sure you are even below 30%.

Be honest with yourself and decide if you are happy with the way things are going, if you are good keep on keeping on but if not let me and some of the others know and let's get this fricking party started and get you down to goal weight by the end of the summer. The choice is simple, be kind of miserable for another two years and hope you stay on track or be fully miserable for less than 6 months and achieve your goals. Really this is out of love brother, promise.

Yeah you gotta get pissed off about this stuff to make real changes it seems.

Hit legs heavy 5x5 then a quick tennis lesson. Followed up with blue oak had some carbs and instantly felt tired after. Came home and napped. Gonna eat some sashimi for lunch tomorrow and get my chicken prepped for the week. Also going to get my measurements done at some point.

I know I'm always riddled with excuses. I know I say I want to lose weight badly but I don't act like it and that is frustrating. Just hear me out on this one.

We were planning out the wedding ceremony and how we are going to honor my deceased mom and things became upsetting. I caved and coped with a couple of beers and a bourbon.

I had originally posted that but thought it was probably not a good idea.. Until you decided to give me the business

You are right man. But honestly I'm not miserable. At all. In fact, I'm happy. That's probably the root to the lack of motivation to dig deep and lose a bunch. I want to lose weight because I want to be a healthy weight, not because I'm miserable at the weight I'm at.

Made it through the weekend without drinking again. With the weather this weekend, and sitting at the bulldog watching everyone walk out with pitchers of beer it was extremely hard and I really wanted pizza from red zeppelin. Been doing pretty well on keto the past few days

Getting work done. +1

I can feel bread's affect on me after I've been zero carb most of the week. For some reason I am curious what my baseline is, and the glycemic load hit on my blood sugar one hr, and two hrs, and how long it takes for me to get to baseline after my dip.

Do you ever notice blood sugar dropping after a fasted workout? Say, one or two hrs afterwards?

And hulk, just quit drinking. I know sometimes I find myself needing to remove all alcohol from my house to get me back to me. Sure, their are health benefits to certain alcohoic beverages, but if you are going cookie monster then there is a problem. I did a little N=1 on myself with beer. If I had beer in the house, I didn't clean up as much. If I have wine (usually do) then I waited until dinner before having a glass or two. With beer, I would have one right after getting home "cracking open a beer" to unwind. I sometimes need to get rid of the wine as well

777, I read the rfl diet ebook from your book vault and im interested in giving it a run to try to offset some of the impending honeymoon gainz.. But if I follow the book, I'd be eating 183g protein/day, or 732 calories with two 'free meals' per week and no refeeds. I know it's a crash diet and all but that seems extra low; any suggestions?

What's your height, age, weight? I will run it through the calculator and post results. But those numbers are pretty close. You get unlimited veggies but honestly you won't be hungry if you do it with chicken and turkey breast and do intermittent fasting. Both me and lazy both have to almost force feed ourselves. The diet has crazy appetite suppressing effects.

And yes those numbers seem low but the whole point is to eat the very minimum amount of calories in protein needed to hold onto muscle and that's it. It's supposed to be hard, but it strips fat faster than anything outside of a true fat fast which is way way harder that this.

Sorry for being so hard on you. Just hate seeing you spinning your wheels.
