That was a surreal millisecond, but wife being in the title helped it make sense. One of the last things he'd have done was post here

And Timothy, you need to stop believing that just because you press buttons for a radio show that means you have some sort of insider knowledge.

But I actually talked with Dell though. I wouldn't lie to these ppl

Please name me a coach that could have gotten this years injury filled team to the playoffs just to be swept by the Warriors/Spurs.

Probably Carlisle/Pop/Thibs.

One of those guys could of actually been our coach FYI.

Demps isnt the worst GM in the league but when it has came to major moves, take away AD and what has he done? Jrue, Gordon, Evans, Ryno and Asik are his major pieces. 3 of those 5 were not smart signings. You don't win chips by hitting on less then 50% of our major moves and only breaking even or maybe a bit better on the others.

I mean if you were hiring a GM and Demps gave you his resume with his major moves at the top: Asik, Gordon, Evans, Jrue, Ryno, drafting Rivers, lucking into Davis, would you hire him???

Dell didn't give you insider info. Dell wouldn't know if he was being fired and if he did know of his termination, he sure wouldn't share that info with you unless it was already public knowledge.

Whatever the case, it does appear that Dell will be staying.

Demps has nothing to show for his time here except lucking into AD, an injury riddled 2nd banana, and a bunch of 9-12 men.

The Browns spent a lot of years chasing players before they realized the issue was management

Demps job is not safe yet guys, decision will be made on Monday.

I won't be surprised if he is actually fired. They may have "leaked" the info to gather public opinion

I mean it wouldn't be the first time a stalking horse is used in sports but I would think that it also risks burning bridges with a local media that has already been a bit annoyed at the Loomis/Payton treatment over the years and the Pelicans continued mediocrity.

"Here's this piece of insider info Advocate reporters, it's trustworthy, solid enough to speak about in absolutes and fit to print."

....2 days later

"Haha just fricking with you! We lied, this was just a ruse to test the waters and you were our pawns! We're firing the shite head. Hahaha"

Add consistency to the list of issues they deal with. They literally fire a coach every other year. How are you supposed to establish a system when you shuffle out the staff so often? And yeah, the FO and all of the higher ups are responsible for that. Sucks to see Cleveland rot the way it does.

Yeah, that's silly. I'm pretty sure this story started with Kushner being lead to believe that Demps would have a presser this past week and then he didn't. When it didn't happen he tweeted that out which begs the question "What does that mean?". Who did he reach out to to figure it out? If he was able to get Loomis or Lauscha then it's probably a solid story. Demps or anyone that works for him, that's not really any different than what tzimme4 has been posting here.

Does being the official newspaper of the team get you access to Loomis in the middle of the draft for things they probably don't want to talk about publicly? Why was a decision on Monty made 2-3 weeks after the draft yet a decision on Demps has already been made before the draft? Why was there a Dumars camp leak if a decision on Demps staying had already been made, that would seem to only harm his future prospects with the team. Even if Demps is staying this year there's always next year or 2 years from now for Joe.

The only thing I can think of that would render my questions pointless is if Demps' extension was big/long enough to make him as hard to fire now as Gentry. But since BSS is the one that's told us about the extension in the first place, it seems like if that was the reason, they would point to that extension, a piece of news that they broke with sources, and say "you know that extension we told you about? That's why Demps is staying." But instead we get "trust us Demps is staying." and then "How dare you question us you ungrateful wretches." when I think I've pointed out some legitimate questions that need answers or at least more explanation that "trust us." We haven't even gotten a "those are valid questions, we thought of them too and still believe our info." it's just childish lashing out about the fact that we don't trust them blindly.

It's all very ironic for the BSS/TBW angry bloggers. McNamara has turned himself into the Jimmy Smiths/"traditional media" of the world with this type of nonsense and taking himself so very seriously.

"We have a platform and some knowledge. Only we can be the gatekeepers of thoughts for this team. Only we are the experts, you peasants."

Another thing to point out is that Monty was fired after the Benson family released a letter praising him and the front office for making the playoffs. Everyone thought that meant that Monty was safe at the time.
