Emeril's Revisited Successfully

It was time to visit Emeril's again. I love the place and I think it's underrated by many locals, but that's okay because as long as I'm not missing out, I'm good with that. However, I think it should be recommended more often than it is.
The place was hopping a few Thursday nights ago. We were seated in wine room area to the left of the bar. First time I've eaten in there. Nice room. Nice windows overlooking the street. I like the decor. It was full of activity, but not loud such that you couldn't chat with your fellow diners. The chairs are comfy, too.
Service was immaculate and I don't use that word lightly. It simply was. I'd forgotten about the fleet of folks who attend to you there, all knowledgeable, all pleasant, all upbeat and all who seem to appear just when you need them, but not when you don't.
I was pretty hungry upon arrival so I neglected to take pics of apps. Sorry about that. Our table was a little dark, as well, and I hurried in taking pics, but you'll get the gist.
I forced myself away from the bbq shrimp with the rosemary shortcake (having that etouffee over the shortcake at Brigtsen's on my mind for the future) and went to one of my next favorite items which is the house made boudin and andouille sausage on skillet greens with beer braised onions, house made whole grain mustard and Emeril’s worcestershire sauce. I’ve had the greens there with the Worcestershire sauce before and I love them. They're sort of crispy in a way and full of flavor. I wish he'd bottle his worcestershire sauce. The boudin is fine for this dish and I like the andouille as well. Really enjoyed the app. Hit the spot for my desire.
There was a great lobster salad on the menu with avocado, butternut squash, fennel, endive, grapefruit, hazelnuts, trout roe, toasted poppy seed dressing. I wish I'd taken a pic of it because it was as pretty as it was tasty. Apparently, there was a lot of lobster in the house because one of the other diners had the lobster bisque with leeks and fennel, I believe. Also very good.
I love the andouille crusted drum there, but two other people were getting it, so I knew I'd get some samples. I steered away and got Shellfish Bucatini Nero-Lobster, Grand Isle Shrimp, Blue Crab, Scampi Butter, Pancetta Crumbs. It was delicious. I enjoyed it more than I expected. I rarely order pasta out unless at an Italian restaurant that’s usually cannelloni. I’d get it again. Flavor was good and the seafood was fresh and it was just the right size having had somewhat of a heavily flavored and weighted app. I sort of want it right now.
The andouille crusted drum with glazed pecans and meuniere was as good as it always is. I highly recommend this dish.
The last entree was a special of a pan seared skin on red snapper over rice with some greens and that's about all I can recall other than that the diner really enjoyed it. The pic sucks, I know. Lots of shadows and not much light.
We shared the 3 sorbets of blood orange, pineapple and one that I can't recall, but all were good. The thing we really enjoyed was the grilled banana bread with the pecan praline sort of sauce and ice cream. Really hard to go wrong with those flavors and what a great idea to have banana bread as a dessert. I toast it at home all the time, but I think I'll put a slice on the grill next time I have a hankering.
Was a great night at Emeril's. Great drinks, great food, great service, great atmosphere and great company. Looking forward to another visit.

I agree. I think it's very underrated

Thanks for the review.
Although I've never been to Emeril's itself in the Warehouse District, I have visited NOLA on multiple occasions, Emeril's in Orlando, and Emeril's Fish House at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.
All of the experiences were very good.

Emeril's was not previously on my New Orleans restaurant must do list, but now I've added it.
Grilled banana bread! Next time I have people over for dinner, maybe we'll try something like that.

Glad she had a good visit, but I will not go back. My last 2 trips are, without contest, my worst 2 dining experiences in New Orleans. My wife and I won a $100 Gift Card there a while back and gave it away.

That's what we were discussing, as well. Needs a little of bit of a sauce on the side or maybe just over the ice cream. The scoop wasn't that large and it didn't need to be.
We did some "revisits" this trip with some new to us restaurants like Shaya, Johnny Sanchez and College Inn. It was fun.
Boss, what happened on your visits? Two different times of having horrible meals is really dreadful.

Just seeing this linked from the other thread and felt the need to comment. I live in the neighborhood so I go there pretty often and have never had a bad meal. That coupled with the excellent service and always fun atmosphere always keeps me going back. I had the seafood dish you mentioned last week and enjoyed it as well. It doesn't get talked about enough here with all the great newer restaurants in town.

This place is fantastic. Locals seem to avoid it for some reason. It's a home run every time I go.
