Not just 1 lost, but the Cardinals holding a 3-1 lead over the Braves in the '96 NLCS, and not only losing 3 straight, but getting outscored 32-1 in those 3. Was so close, and it seemed like everyone around me were braves fans so I was ready to shove it in their faces.

Speaking of the braves tormenting me, Alan Benes pitching 8.2 innings of no hit ball against them in '97, but getting a ND because he was going against Maddux.

I made a conscious decision many years ago to just enjoy the games and if my team won it was an added bonus. Sports is supposed to be fun. Life is too short to go gray over it all.

Houston won Game 6 to win that series. One of my favorite sports moments.

You're right. For some reason I thought it was in 2004 that happened

Hits home because of my father.

He's still alive, but hates those kind of jokes.

2004 was a great NLCS, with Pujols and Rolen getting to the Rocket on back to back pitches in game 7 to seal the deal.

2005 seemed like they had no shot. Astros pitching owned us.

LSU vs Bama 2012 Champ Game

Saints vs Niners 2011 Playoff game

Are what I cry myself to sleep at night about. Two of my favorite and best teams in each of their histories to fall just short of incredible seasons the same year

Fair enough. But your soul shrank for a few seconds as you scrolled down. Admit it.

So what was worse in that game? 9th inning or 10th?

2003 Cubs vs. Marlins

I'm still not over it.

I kind of knew LSU would get creamed by Bama, so that one just pissed me off.

Watching LSU/Auburn in 1994 literally made me sick to my stomach.

At the time it happened it was definitely game 6 of the 05 NLCS. I felt like there was zero point to game 7 but then Roy O happened

Series only went 6. Pujols' bomb was game 5.

Only good thing about that series for me was I got to watch the last couple of games in the Bahamas.

To add some old games. The playoff losses to Philly and Atlanta.

I don't remember which of those games it was but it was one of them. Either one was worthy of a full melt. And I did; I completely fricking melted. My in-laws were visiting so I knew I couldn't destroy the house the way I wanted to. So I just got up off the couch and walked outside. Went for a little walk in the woods and for a while I was pretty calm. And then like a baseball bat to the back of the head, it hit me. I grabbed a log the size of my leg and I beat it against a pine tree until the log was nothing but splinters. Just completely lost my mind. I came back inside, looking like I'd been attacked by Sasquatch and acted like nothing happened. But my wife knew and was probably grateful that I didn't meltdown in front of her parents.
