sports are stupid. they are meaningless in the grand scheme of life. and yet, we still put a frick ton of emotional weight into the outcome of games. what was the worst loss you have ever dealt with? im talking about the type of loss that leaves you asking yourself, "why do i even bother with this sports stuff"
close race between game 4 of the 2008 NLCS and game 6 of the 2008 NBA finals but i think im going to go with game 6 of the 2008 NBA finals. that sucked

Nelson Cruz dropping Freese's fly in the 9th raped my soul and didn't call the next morning.

Saints playoff loss to Seattle when Lynch made them look like idiots.
Saints playoff loss to San Fran when Alex Smith couldn't be run down by our secondary.
Every playoff loss for the Pelicans / Hornets ever because they so rarely make the playoffs.

Saints-49ers playoff game.
98 college world series (LSU needed 1 win to make it to the championship game for the 3rd year in a row and they lost two in a row to USC.)

I don't think I'll ever get over that. The utter humiliation of what would have gone down as one of the best college football teams ever.

2006 vs Florida in Glendale for the Championship

Probably the 2012 SEC Championship.
Pros it has to be Dwyane Wade and the refs beating the Mavs or the Dez Bryant no-catch.

at the time... when the Saints lost to the Browns in 1999 on a last second hail mary. That was a super shitty season and the lowest point I've ever had as a Saints fan. I felt like we'd always be crap at that moment.
in the post season: 2011 Saints @ 49ers it was a great game but we got the shite end of the stick. Almost overcame a boat load of turnovers only to fall apart on defense at the end.

As a fan, probably game 6 foul that was never called. I refuse to even discuss it to this day. Only because it was in Miami did it not get called.
As for working in college athletics, it cost us a NIT bid I still think.
And The ESPY Goes To ...
Deon Jackson
Bradley vs. SMS
March 3, 1996
Sometimes basketball's best moments are born out of the type of desperation that Bradley encountered in the final moments of the 1996 Missouri Valley Conference semifinals against Southwest Missouri State.
Bradley trailed by a point with seven seconds remaining and planned to get their best inside player, Deon Jackson, free off a screen in the paint. Jackson took a pass with his back to the basket about eight feet away, but the ball squirted out of his hands toward midcourt. Chaos ensued, as Jackson went to retrieve the ball, which was rolling out past the 3-point line.
"The play ran like it was supposed to be run," Jackson said. "But I fumbled the ball, lost it, and it started to bounce out to the 3-point line. I'm thinking, 'I gotta get a shot off.' So I ran after it with one of their guys, who stopped.
"When I got it, instead of turning to my left to shoot, I turned to my right, off-balance. With as much form as I could, I turned and shot all at once. It went in."
The cameras cut to Jackson mouthing the words "Oh my god!" over and over.
"I saw it go in, and then I ran in a circle around the court and into the locker room. I remember how stunned the Southwest Missouri guys were. They didn't even think it was possible that I could get a shot off."
To this day I get pissed off thinking about it. I hate Bradley and their fake arse Harvard of the Midwest attitude.

I'll never forget watching that one. Safe to say Buffalo was rewarded with plenty of their own heartbreak.
