It's really interesting that every SEC fan base (or at least the Harvey Updykes of every fan base) think Vern hates their team and intentionally bashes them. Vern doesn't pull for or against any team. He doesn't care. Stop looking for reasons to be a victim.

I think Gary is very good, Verne is worse than useless and should have been retired years ago.

Before Verne it was Keith Jackson, although Jackson was on ABC, so there is always going to be someone who is openly pulling for anyone LSU is playing especially Alabama, and Ole Miss.

I would take Gary and Ron Franklin. Ron was the best in the biz until Verne's daughter illegitimate daughter Holly Rowe screwed him over.

I noticed this too. Not sure if its a bias or just a general unawareness of whats going on in the game. Stuff like this happens every week though. Sometimes theyre showing Gary and Verne during a 2 minute offense instead of showing the field. Stuff like that makes it aggravating to watch.

CBS is literally unbearable. The commercials are noticeably frequent even at the games, and half the time they're not showing the field it's the cute cheerleaders and stupid Bama shakers. ESPN with Herbstriet and Fowler do a much better job

The best crew in the business is the Blackledge/Nessler ESPN crew. Verne is just a heavy drinker who should have been removed from the booth a long time ago. The mistakes, improper pronunciations, and general weird comments are probably due to his age and drinking regimen. I actually laughed at a few of them Saturday for how bad he was.

At the end of the day you hear what you want to hear based on who you are supporting.
You tend to focus more on the negative comments said about your team than you do the positive.
Every single SEC school's fans have negative comments about Verne and Gary being biased against there school.
Just start google searching and when you find articles about them look in the comments sections.

Yeah, every single fan base thinks that Verne is biased against their team. It's hard for him to say good things about LSU when there's nothing good on the field. As long as we don't get Pam Ward doing our games, the play-by-play person doesn't really bother me.

Yep, he even hates Bama. I remember watching a youtube video of a gump bashing Verne for a play against LSU (it was either the 2010 or 2012 game in BR).
Michael Ford took a sweep and outran the defense. As he is running down the sideline (it was kind of a slow developing play, then he burst up and gained about 20), Verne let out a huge "OH YES!". Gump was pissed. He does this for all teams. He's just really really bad at commentating football games.
