Think about this for just a minute.

Remember when Eric Reid made the interception against Alabama?
Vern: "OH NO!"
Vern: "OH NO!"

OP you should start a petition!
quote:
But one Alabama fan named Andy Bearden isn’t happy with Danielson and Lundquist, and he filed a Change.org petition to have CBS remove the two broadcasters from the air. Bearden’s reasons were based on impartiality.
“Their commentary is extremely negative for most of the game. They are also two of the most biased commentators on TV. They cannot remain neutral at all! They pick their team in the game and constantly berate the other team!”

None of this will happen with Jimbeaux at the helm.

He wasn't actively trying to jinx Domingue.
When Domingue missed the kick; the conversation went something like this:
"Well, it looks like the jinx took place."
Verne said, "it sure does!" (Both laughing)
But the BS hold on Fournette's first run took some wind out of our sails. It was back and forth until we killed ourselves with penalties.

Maybe CBS will boot Verne and give Miles that job next season.

Gary wasn't as bad but Verne on the other hand was laughable in his bias. Verne was so unprofessional during that game.
What did you expect him to do? Pump sunshine up your arse while LSU continued to shite in the bed? Grow a pair and face reality of what the situation really is.

Seems obvious that Verne no longer even attempts to conceal his disdain for LSU football.
But I've always wondered why? Did someone at LSU insult or ridicule Verne in the past?

Maybe the co-eds in Baton Rouge don't go for his Jabba the Hut/Slave Lea fantasy when he comes to town.

When I was in Baton Rouge, I would just turn on the local radio broadcast and mute the tv. It was only a second or two difference. And with dvr capabilities you could likely get them synced up very well now.

Always liked Gary but Verne doesn't upset me like he does to others. His comment was true about celerabrating in the end zone when you are down 14. Congratulate each other and move on. No need for dances when you are getting your arse handed to you for the 3rd week in a row.

I don't like Verne, he is annoying as all hell.
I remember when Bama hit that 55 yarder to end the half he literally screamed into his headset "WOW!"
I mean I'm not saying he homers for Bama/hates LSU and all that mumbo jumbo nonsense, but that was pretty unprofessional. I know that was like a one in a million kick for Bama because their special teams suck, but you wouldn't hear any other broadcasters scream almost jubilantly like that.
I don't know, it just annoyed me.

Verne says things without thinking. That's what alcohol does to a person. Combine that with his age and, oh well. He's on his way out in a few.

Not really. I hate the CBS broadcasts. Verne needs to be put to pasture.

My favorite Verne moment was when Reid intercepted the long pass at the goal line against Alabama a few years ago... He said "Oh Nooo" ... Havent listened to CBS game with volume since so have no idea what he is saying these days

It's so common that I'm immune to it now. I don't even hear it anymore.
What did raise my blood pressure was the refs calling it tight on LSU (re: holding, PI, etc.) and very loose on Ole Miss.
The rebels held at least as much and possibly more than LSU but didn't get called for it such as the Kelly rushing TD. To the announcers credit they did call the refs out on it though saying it was holding and should have been called, but it was happening all night and not called.
Very inconsistent officiating. Call it either loose or tight on both teams and you'll get no beef from me. That didn't happen last weekend.
