I'm sure they had no idea!!! Which is why you don't go Rambo and empty a magazine into a vehicle when you don't know what's inside, the cops were playing Rambo and killed a baby, it's that simple.

why are they firing into the back of a car without being able to see a target?
Because it's dark and the guy is trying to wreck into them during a pursuit. Reading the article, the child was in the front seat, so it is very likely the officers would not know that he was there. But let's throw common sense out the window and just hang these cops for killing an innocent child.

What's more simple is the dad should not get into a pursuit with his child in the car. He should also not try to ram officers chasing him with said child in the car. But you're right, it's the cops' fault.

I'm waiting to hear what he was being pursued for.

White guy in the wrong neighborhood gets cornered by another car who's occupants jump out screaming with guns drawn. Maybe he thought he was being carjacked? I might flee too. Anyone can claim to be police and if I'm not mistaken a serial killer used to use that very scheme to get people to stop on desolate highways.

well how the frick do you hit the passenger when you are suppose to be shooting the driver? It comes down to one they couldn't see a target and they weren't accurate. Hell hitting the other side of the vehicle is worse then if they hit the kid in the back seat.
Common sense is if you can't shoot accurately and don't know what is in the car then you probably shouldn't be shooting. Hell what if the guy had some explosives in the car and they went rambo and the car goes boom killing the driver and them?

There is only one reason a white person is in that area of Marksville on a Tuesday night at 9:30. I will let you use your imagination.

I think they are the ones who blew away a baby trying to play Rambo, so yes I would agree

So if your dad does something stupid you deserve to be executed for it?

Car could be moving. Crazy concept, I know.

You don't know that.

If you assume the car is stationary and there's no adrenaline flowing, sure. But I'm sure you're an amazing shot under all circumstances.

Common sense says you have no idea what you're talking about for this situation.

Then it's still the bad guy's fault.

And your version of common sense says killing a 6 year old is a good shoot

know i do know they didn't shoot accurately, if they had been accurate shots then a driver would be dead and an innocent kid would still be alive.
it doesn't matter if its the bad guys fault if the cops manage to kill themselves. they are dead rather it is their fault or the bad guy.

Yep. Definitely remotely close to anything I've said. Enjoy your cop bashing circle jerk.

Ive worked with city "marshalls" from Laffy to Opelousas to Mansfield and yes even to Marksville...I can honestly say 99% of these dumbasses cant even spell gun much less know how/when to use one correctly. Having guns in these guys hands is dangerous.

The fact he rammed into their car changes everything in this situation. Will be interested to follow as more facts come out. Feel bad for the marshals and the dad bc I'm sure they are sick over this.

The dad was wrong for his actions and should be held accountable. The cops were wrong for blindly firing into a car when they had no idea who was in there. They should be held accountable for the child's death. When a cop(or anyone else for that matter) draws a weapon and starts firing, they take responsibility for the consequences of what happens. Bottom line is these cops did not aquire a proper sight picture and instead went Wild West with their pistols. This resulted in the senseless death of a child. There is no excusing their actions.

The fact that people actually use this justification is part of the problem. They opened fire on a car without determining who was in it. There is no excuse.

If officers don't have to worry about taking innocent lives when they discharge their weapons then we are living in the Wild fricking West.
