never understood this mentality...so if the dollar is worthless/society collapses...what the frick good is gold and silver going to do?people will go back to trading and bartering and u know what will be of value?ammo,canned goods,alcohol etc.that's just my thought on the matter, but buy away!

I have thought the same.
A person can't eat gold, nor use it to harvest game.
Cigarettes, pussy, booze, and guns / ammo will be the most valuable.

That's the main thing that keeps me from thinking that this is just a correction.
Even if there is no "trigger" for a crash, all of this pent up panic make end up making one up. Seems like all there needs is a spark

Oh lordy. The good old "you can't eat gold" argument. Gold is not for eating. The purpose of gold is it's a store of value. It's a medium of exchange. You can store gold and exchange it 10 years later. You can't do that with a dozen eggs.
