Don't worry Nola residents, NOPD is doing their job

GF and I live in the Quarter. As many know, parking is a bitch, and many days we have to go move our cars to legal parking zones in the morning (freight zones and others are open after 6 pm and on Sundays).
GF goes out this morning to move her car one block and she gets pulled over by NOPD. Cop asks if she has her DL, which she doesn't because she literally just walked out in her pj's to move her car, but she has all other legal documents (insurance and registration) with her address clearly on them.
Cop says doesn't matter, she needs to have her DL on her at all times in the car, writes her a ticket.
I feel so safe knowing the NOPD is doing their job when there were 2 murders on our block in one week a couple of weeks ago. Thank you NOPD.

That's a bullshite law.
As long as you are properly licenced, you should be able to prove that via mail or a court date like insurance.

He just wanted to check her out in her PJ's and I can't knock him for that. But writing the ticket was uncool.

Just pay the damn ticket and be grateful for the lack of sexual assault. The officer was well within his rights to rape her and chose not to.

I keep hearing about "prosecutorial discretion" when it comes to illegal aliens. This would appear to be one of those times a warming would be appropriate. Was your GF a biotch to the cop?
