Lunchbox is retarded. He will argue with a wall and then get visibly upset when the wall will not see his side of the story. Don't waste your time with him

I'm not a proponent of speeding laws, so I don't know what you want to accomplish with this. I was simply pointing out the difference in the purpose of each law. One (the speed limit) is supposedly for safety reasons, while the other (carrying DL) is for convenience purposes.

I have no qualms with a cop using discretion in either case, but it would seem to me that a cop would be more reasonable when a "law" is written for convenience purposes rather than safety purposes. They can always throw the "I was protecting others" motive for enforcing speeding laws, which is debateab, but a theory nonetheless.

If you can point out a reasonable purpose for writing my gf a ticket in this instance, besides a money grab, I will listen with open ears.

It's on her registration and insurance.

Because she broke a law. What do I win?

Not anymore than writing the ticket did. Both instances she would have to pull over.

Yes, everyone's aware of that. The argument here is should cops use common sense when enforcing laws?

That's weird. They normally DGAF about traffic stuff. Hell, they normally DGAF about drinking and driving unless you hit something. Was it a woman cop? They always seem to have a stick up their asses

So she clearly breaks the law and you're mad at the cop? Excellent thread.
