my wife's ride has a spare/valet key, and so I just took her old license and mine and punched holes through the corner and attached them to its keyring.

This is especially great when you lose your keys, cause the driver's license has the address where the person can bring them back to you. It's super convenient.

I mean, technically you're supposed to have a permit to operate a street business, so I guess you were okay with the cop shitting down the little girls lemonade stand a few weeks ago, right?

he cop didn't say why he pulled her over?

Upon further investigation they were camped out on either side of the road right by the police dept, which is on our corner, pulling everyone over.

Basically like a checkpoint.... at 8 am......on a Mon.

Yea, kids selling lemonade in their front yard is definitely equal to operating a vehicle on a public roadway.

Glad I'm not the only one that thought so.

But the law is the law, right? Why should two little girls be exempt from following the rules?

It would seem that way, but I'm really not. I've never seen such a thing from NOPD, they're usually very laxed about traffic stuff.

I mean if she would've broken a traffic law she would've gotten a ticket for it also.

And for the record, my gf is hotter than 99% yalls gf's, and that's a fact. Deal with it.

I never said they should or shouldn't be. Why are you trying to change the subject?

Having moved past the age of 19 and being blessed not to be of the female gender, I don't have to worry about this, thankfully.

Maybe the cop did her a solid and just gave her the non moving citation.

well if you aren't leaving anything out, which I still think you are, then yeah, it's kinda bullshite for the cop to write your g/f a ticket for that

the "the law is the law" crowd is pretty stupid IMO

cops have the ability to use discretion when writing a ticket, but maybe your g/f mouthed off or something?

In reply to my earlier post that common sense has no place in Law enforcement, you said

quote:

This place bitches when cops ignore laws to protect some people, why is it OK in this situation?

So if the cop let her go on a moving violation and instead just cited her for the lack of license only, is it still not common sense?

What sort of moving violation are you going to get moving your car a block in the French Quarter?

Which is more likely:
-That the OP's old lady jumped in her car and floored it like Bo Duke while drifting around the block to find another parking space and the NOPD officer generously only wrote her a ticket for not having a license, or
-That the NOPD was engaged in Revenue Collection in a part of town where people likely to get tickets are also very likely to pay said tickets.

You could get plenty of them. Is that serious?

Honestly I say the first one is more likely. If NOPD wanted to revenue collect in the Quarter they'd have DWI checkpoints every day.
