Michael McNamara just tweeted that. We'll be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the running for signing him. I guess it will be Washington, OKC, Lakers, Knicks, and the Pelicans. I think it will come down to us and the Wizards and I think he will decide to come to Nola to play with AD. Who thinks otherwise and why?

Me. Because anyone outside of the 504 would rank us at best 3rd on that list.

Who are the two teams that have a better shot? Washington and OKC?

Yes.

After that I give us an equal chance with a bunch of other teams. Have to monitor teams like Houston dumping contracts, etc. Hell the Heat could get up in that.

Ughhh

Good luck finding anyone who isn't a Pels fan that has the Pels in the top 3 or 4 to land Durant.

Depends on what the LAL or Knicks can do, how OKC does next season and how we play next season as well. Obviously having AD locked up and if he continures his maturation and becomes what he is capable of superstars are going to want to come to NOLA. Rings are more valuable to a player and to his marketing ppl that location. However, if Phil Jackson can get a team in the knicks or the LAL get their heads out their arse and can compete he will go their so he can have both rings and large market.

if we improve to 4-6 with a 55-win season (or so), demolish the first round and at least get competitive in the 2nd...we have a higher chance than initially considered imo.

About 25 teams will have max contract space. Everyone's plan A is to make a run at Durant.

Unless he is pissed at OKC management, he's a very good bet to stay. One thing we've learned from FA is that top shelf guys are looking at the entire picture and not just money/city.

The Thunder were a 60 win team yearly until injury disaster last season. They maybe have a title if injuries don't strike during the playoffs 2 and 3 years ago. If they regain that form, and smart money is that they will, with health, it's hard to pass that up to go to Wizards/Pelicans teams that will likely not have made it to even the conference Finals.

Yep if we can make the playoffs, win the first series and compete in the 2nd round then I think we have a great shot, but I am not getting my hopes up.

I kind of rule OKC out, We all know Westbrook is not staying in OKC you can bank on it. Then what KD only superstar on that team, not gonna happen. DC why? Cuz he grew up there. call horse shite on that. Thats the only reason they are on the list. If it comes down to it you decide between Wall and AD who you gonna play with. I get I'm biased but I'm still looking at the evidence. If he loses Westbrook you can rule out OKC. Stars are steering away from Big Market teams cuz it makes no difference anymore. So go to NYC? Phil is a GM there not a coach. If they retain melo then KD back to playing with another Westbrook. I can get why to some outside 504 why NOLA might not be attractive. But we have one thing the rest of the league doesnt. Anthony Davis.

That is pure speculation. Durant is every team's Plan A next season. I would love to think we had a great chance of getting him, but at best we would be behind OKC and Washington. I would love to think AD would draw him here. But, even now, we are seeing some of the smaller FAs that we have been rumored to have offered, choosing to go elsewhere. So, does the AD draw overcome the small market hurdle? Who knows?

.. That is the point. I would love a List of smaller FA that we have offered that have turned us down.. I am sure its an outrageous number, we had so much money this off season to offer players. We have signed pretty much the people we wanted aside from Cole. We kept what we had and thats what we wanted to do.

LINK This article came out yesterday. Personally I can't see him leaving OKC to go another small market when teams like the Clippers and Heat come calling.

Yeah, he is everyone's Plan A, but I'm in the group that thinks KD will be salivating to play with AD. I agree with what a few people have said already in that we really need to have a strong showing this coming year and post season if we want him to consider us.

No one else will be able to say, "Come to our team and we'll have 2 out of the top 4 players in the league." (Lebron, Steph, KD, and AD)

You guys do realize San Antonio is a small market team and look at what they have done.. Small Market vs Big Market such bull now a days. KD is going to go to the place that gives him the best chance to win and win now.

Clippers? With what money? They will have to get rid of quite a few players. Heat? For what? Dwade doesnt have much tread left on those tires and neither does bosh.

Like i said I get I am biased but at the same time, give me a compelling argument that makes us not a place to come play basketball. I don't know where he will end up but I believe we have just as good a shot as any team. If not a better shot.
