McNamara looking for clicks. The Pelicans won't sign Durant. Period. i'd consider it a huge coup if we could even make it into his top 4.

If the Pelicans sign Durant, I will masturbate at midcourt using Tabasco sauce as lube.

I don't think you guys are fully grasping my tweet. It is not that the Pels will have him at the top of their wish list or adding him would be cool. Everything over the next 12 months will be geared towards making the best pitch to him. And it already has begun.

Getting a coach that will play a fun style that players love is no coincidence. AD signing at 12:01 is no coincidence. You will start to see Dell and Gentry on TV and radio more nationally than you ever have. You will hear players put the message out in the media that it is so fun to play here, the training facility is great, the new scoreboards, etc.

They are going to make a real run at it. Will it work? Who knows. But I know the brass has way more faith in it being possible than most on this board apparently.

. Yea and as a Professional athlete I would hope you would consider the future not just the 1 year. I think KD is smart enough to realize that the cap will be even higher that following year and that Westbrook will test the waters. And most likely sign elsewhere

OKC will offer him more money than anyone else can at 12:01 AM the day free agency begins on 7/1/17.

No one else will be able to say, "Come to our team and we'll have 2 out of the top 4 players in the league." (Lebron, Steph, KD, and AD)

Lebron can say this next off season. All he has to do is go back to Miami and tell Wade to frick off. Lebron, Durant, and Bosh

at (very) best, the speculation is premature
at worst, it's throwing shite at the wall and hoping for readers/retweets/clicks/whatever the kids are into these days

of course they'll make a pitch to durant, so will every other of the 29 teams. please point out any decision or deal made or not made this offseason that has anything to do with that

What does that have to do with OKC offering Westbrook the 5 year max in 2017?

Durant + AD definitely equals prime time games. I don't think it is that inconceivable that he comes considering we can offer as much as anyone outside of OKC and he will be playing with potentially the league's best player when AD enters his prime (it's crazy to think that AD has 3 or so more years until he will even enter his prime years).

Personally I can't see him leaving OKC to go another small market when teams like the Clippers and Heat come calling.

Durant doesn't strike me as the guy that needs the spotlight of a big market. He just wants to win. And not many teams can pitch playing him next to a player like AD for the next 5 years. Not saying we will sign him but its not crazy to think the Pels could be in the top 3 or 4.

You guys do realize San Antonio is a small market team and look at what they have done.. Small Market vs Big Market such bull now a days. KD is going to go to the place that gives him the best chance to win and win now.

San Antonio isn't really the greatest comparison. They haven't been successful by bringing in huge superstar FAs. They've done it with great scouting/drafting, signing the right role players, and great coaching.

Agreed. I don't think the chances are high but it's not ridiculous.
