From a family source but it was something to do with a business class and a group project was not completed at all. I understand he was passing with a b before the final.

Yes I think Paul may act like he don't know about the Appeal but I think he knows and he also knows Fosters grades were not high enough to stay elgible. But he could have said they were all hoping Jatred wins his appeal he didn't ,that's that. He gone

You don't think Mainieri didn't know Foster planned to appeal?

He can't say that he hopes Foster wins the appeal, that's just not proper.

In this situation, you let the process woklrk itself out, then you make an announcement.

I don't know when Foster actually made the decision to appeal.

This came from a players mouth, Jared Fosters professor told CPM that he would have helped Foster out if Foster would have showed up to class within the last 6 weeks. So tifwiw but I have really really solid info.

I'm kind of interested to know who the professor is.

Not that I don't completely support the decision of said professor. That department is very lenient on some things, and if they felt they needed to flunk him, he almost assuredly deserved it. Just curious who it was.

Well this is just false because all athletes class attendance is monitored and the coaches know who misses everything from classes to tutoring and study sessions

They aren't checking every class.

He knows nothing about the info in the appeal. He did not even know there was one until he was told about it by another coach earlier today

Yea that's correct. I have a class with Jared who came to our exam talking about how that group project screwed him in the other class and he was stressing for our exam. Had to raise money for the project. That's all I'll say. As for the monitoring. They didn't monitor much at all honestly.

I didn't know there was such a process when I was a student.

I like Foster's swag. We are better with him. We all need a little help. I didn't turn in a critical paper at LSU and the proffesser let me turn in "something " and keep my grade.

Wouldn't surprise me if he kept Foster on the bench regardless

At least Danny Zardon can turn a double play. Hope he comes back for depth, but I think as a team we're better off with Zardon at second.

I had baseball players at South Alabama who "negotiated" with me at the beginning of the term their plans and schedules for the class. I said the syllabus determined the requirements and they needed to heed that, as the syllabus is a legal contract between the student and teacher--any deviation from the syllabus has to be agreed to by the student. My students attended classes when they could, and sent their assignments in by email when they couldn't. A lot of courses today are to a great extent online and that type of facilitation can work--even in a project situation. Also, IF Foster had enough credits to graduate, and let some electives slide, with the essential credits passing and those non-essential for graduation not, do you remove a student's eligibility if the student has already satisfied the graduation requirements with the others? There are other factors--like giving incompletes or extending a student under extinuating circumstances that need to be considered. Many professors are very arrogant about things, anyway--and the vast majority are not teachers--they profess--and sometimes are very unwise. There is a problem here that may arise from multifarious variables--not just what is non the surface.
