Jared Fosters professor told CPM that he would have helped Foster out if Foster would have showed up to class within the last 6 weeks.

Why should he have to go to class if he came here to play BASEBALL, he ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS.

So you don't think concentrating on his studies would have helped last summer?

You really should take a look back at his last year of his studies before you roll that dique out of your mouth and speak

Yes, effort and showing you give a damn helps professor's justify giving some help. Lack of effort is just disrespectful to the professors and they have a job to do as well. These guys and girls (all sports) have more assets available to them to help them in the classroom than has ever been available. Show you care, put out the effort, get the help and get it done. No matter how good you are, you are one injury away from doing something besides making a living playing sports.

In my years at LSU among the different sports the top two sports academically were swimmers and football players. The bottom was always baseball players and men's gymnastics. Actually wrestling in those days but that sport is long gone at LSU.

at the end of the day when all the info is out there everyone will find out this had nothing to do with him not going to class. what i have heard about the points of the appeal is that it has to do with treatment that should be afforded to all students. believe it or not there has always been professors that treated students unfairly because they were athletes and this could be one of those cases.

They check every single class if you are in poor standing or in danger of failing. I mean every, single, one. Now if you are doing well they dont check a single class

This is how I dont understand how failing is possible. We had a guy who was struggling, and they checked every class, he had to get his teachers sign his assignment pad, they went through every piece of homework, and his arse was in study hall 2 hours a night for a whole week before a test with a private tutor for that class.

i dont know all the details about J foster's situation, but I will say this--he has no one to blame but himself, and as a senior, should know the drill on how to pass a class. As for the appeal of his grade, forget about it--won't happen.

Appeals on subjectively graded things have been won before. I've done it.

It was a group project. Had a B before the project, bombed it, got a 69 in the class, and needed a C (70) in this class due to it being a core class for his major. My source just grew up in LC as well and heard the story from a mutual friend so take it for what it is worth.

Edit: Even if he wins I think PM won't let him back on the team so the discussion may be irrelevant.

If what you are saying is true and he was one point from making the grade, it seems that reason could prevail and he could be given some make up work; the instructor could even make it diificult make up work if he/she is so inclined. I would expect that for any student who is one point away from graduating, especially if the student has a decent overall GPA.

Mainieri may not give him his starting spot immediately, or even at all, but I disagree with you and think he will allow him back on the team.

See Cardale gets it. The rant, lsu profs need to get on board or get out of the way. Heck LSU has some budget cutting, this guy should be first on the chopping block.
