What I'm saying is when one of the two leads is a well respected award nominated actor and the other lead is a hack. I thought of this flipping channels and saw Ralph Feins and JLO in that movie where she was a maid.

Gangs of New York easily. Not that Leo's a hack, but DDL totally dominated the screen everytime he was on. I didn't care about anything else in his scenes.

In the presence of such excellence the other actor/actress doesn't stand a chance.

Gangs of New York would have been a much better film if Liam Neeson had a larger role. Neeson is a great actor and more than held his own with DDL when they were on screen together. Their gang fight scene was epic and felt like a confrontation between two titans. Unforutnaly, it was the only time DDL was challenged on screen because DiCaprio just didn't have the same screen presence of Neeson at that time. LINK

Any scene with the blonde chick. She might be the worst actress ever

In 1996 Wesley Snipes & Robert De Niro in The Fan seemed odd. Since then De Niro wouldn't overwhelm Pee Wee Herman.

Ha. That reminds me of Eastwood and all the Asian actors in Gran Torino. Awful group that was.

Virtually any film with Keanu Reeves.

Great example of Keanu is Bram Stoker's Dracula - he was in a film with Anthony Hopkins AND Gary Oldman. Who the frick thought that was a good idea - Keanu simply isn't an actor - why bring such stark attention by surrounding him with such good actors in the film? The only thing that mitigated this was that Ryder was also miscast (although she can act if properly cast and motivated) and/or phoned it in.

And the leads in Titanic were overmatched/outacted badly by the supporting cast. (Leo has since done much, much better, but either miscast/misused and/or didn't deliver in this particular film).

Casino. I still say it could almost be in the same breath as Goodfellas if Sharon Stone wouldn't have fricked up the entire movie.

I disagree - the overall story was just a little less compelling than Goodfellas - and, in particular there was no Ray Liotta as glue to hold the film together - Deniro was great, Pesci was great, and Stone gave an inspired performance - I don't think she's all that great of an actress, but, as I understand it, she nailed the role - as it was based on a real person.
