I agree with this. Keanu is just not an actor.

I disagree - the overall story was just a little less compelling than Goodfellas - and, in particular there was no Ray Liotta as glue to hold the film together - Deniro was great, Pesci was great, and Stone gave an inspired performance - I don't think she's all that great of an actress, but, as I understand it, she nailed the role - as it was based on a real person.

I've gone back and forth in my brain on this one. I didn't know if I didn't like her because her performance was terrible or if her performance was so brilliant that it made me hate her character even more.

I decided to go with the former and stick to my guns.

And I like Casino a lot more than most people do.

There's lots of ensembles that you could call all kinds of actors out on. I don't even hate Reeves in everything. Just trying to go with op's mismatch concept.

I'd say this one is a draw.

I will watch Casino from almost any point I catch it on, until the end. There are very few movies I can say this about. It is the "more fun" of the 2 Scorcese/Deniro/Pesci gangster film, IMHO, although I recognize that Goodfellas is clearly, demonstrably the superior film.

But Casino is one of my top rewatchable movies of all time - I'm fascinated with organized crime and gambling.

Between Reeves and almost any actor he's against. Other than Ted "Theodore" Logan, he's wholly unconvincing in everything he's ever done - ever, ever. He is Keanu reading lines, rather than a traditional "actor" - I daresay Kristen Stewart would like absolutely Oscar worthy if she were cast opposite Keanu.

Didn't say he was Heston. Thought the op's point was Hack v Ringer.

Keanu was good in The Matrix. His acting style was actually perfect for The Day the Earth Stood Still, even though that movie sucked.

Jerry Lewis and Robet De Niro in The King of Comedy.

Very dark comedy where Lewis plays a dramatic role and De Niro does the subtle and dark comedy.

It definitely works though, and this is one of my favorite Scorsese movies.

Low-res 240p, but it's on YouTube

Keanu is wooden and pretty terrible in most of his roles. But, to be fair, I loved him in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and he was perfect in Parenthood alongside some pretty stout acting talent.

Tony Bruno once said that somewhere in America, a stockboy is hiding in the back room of a supermarket, smoking a joint, and he's better at his job than Keanu Reeves is at his.

Also: River's Edge

Good movie although none of the acting is exactly memorable

One that stands out to me is if you've ever seen the movie "21",

Kevin Spacey and that young fella who was the lead.

How did Sharon Stone mess up the movie? Her character was supposed to be an insufferable junkie that everyone other than De Niro could tell was a huge problem. She played it perfectly.
