FWIW I read something today ranking the best pizza in each state, and for Louisiana it was Domenica. Shocker, Johnnys wasn't in the running.
That cheese sauce though.

For NY style I agree. I personally like Neopolitan style pizza.

The Louisiana Hayride, Municipal Auditorium's history and Ledbelly are three EXTREMELY significant contributions to our entire culture that can hardly be rivaled. It sure as shite trumps any city in Louisiana outside of New Orleans for cultural contributions to the nation. Maybe the entire South.
I've asked what BR cultural contribution can compare to the LA Hayride, never really gotten any answers.

7 damn pages and nobody brought up that north LA has Ferriday
That place is like the fricking apex of human cultural development.
Also, I'm north LA born and raised but I married a blonde Cajun lady from New Orleans.

I'm going to go one further.
If you put a tack into 2015 and ask which city in Louisiana played a bigger role in music as a whole in the 20th century, you could have a debate as to whether Shreveport was more important than New Orleans.
Jazz is Jazz. It is a musical style and that can never be taken away from New Orleans.
But, if you put Shreveport and New Orleans on a starting line in 1900 and measured which city had a more important role overall in 2000, you could argue that Shreveport was more important.
You can't even measure the importance of Shreveport's central role in the careers of 20th century icons of music. It is off the chart.
Elvis and Ledbelly alone might trump anything New Orleans can cite.
If that isn't good enough, Hank Williams is in the hole with Elvis and Ledbelly batting and on deck.

This is just a dumb argument. It's like two homeless people arguing over which cardboard box they sleep in is best. Newsflash: the rest of the country looks down on the entire state, and doesn't give a damn if it's the north and or south.
I love Louisiana because it's home. But for the love of God, it ranks poorly in every major category for a reason. Maybe make the state as a whole better before worrying about which half is less shitty.
Meh, I don't think New Orleans is really looked down upon.
