I've live in both areas, and there is a cultural difference. I liked both regions, but I enjoyed listening to the coonasses in South Louisiana talk, while trying to decipher WTF he/she said

I think it's pretty hilarious that about 95% of the tourists that Nola attracts are just trash from other southern states.

Maybe the tourists, but those who move here are from various areas, often times not from the south.

ETA: a lot of foreigners come here as tourists, too

This is all true, but the three best cities in Louisiana are located in the south.

Nothing wrong with some things in NLa and SLa. I've enjoyed NOLA, BR, Laffy, S'port, and Funroe; enjoyed great food down south and love the hell out of some Johnny's; like fishing down south and enjoy sitting in the woods with tall pine trees around. I love Louisiana for many things and wish some issues were better.

This sounds way too much like a Dallas v. Houston debate!

I was including the city of LSU as the third.
It sucks, but it's better than anything that northern LA has to offer.
