I would be willing the bet that the cop never identified himself.

You mean like they did in 2009 with this same officer?
Where can this info be found?

this guy's ultimate goal is to go home to his family every night.

My bad, Exactly same scenario.

He could have shown his Badge. Ultimately, it's my opinion that he's a roided up redneck POS that wanted to hit someone that night. I hope the kid gets paid.

What? I'm guessing that was an attempt at some witty joke but you continue to come off as a stupid frick.
Lighten up Francis. Clearly you are an uptight a-hole, and that's cool and all, but jeez relax some before u give yourself a heart attack.

Roid rage... Lol classic. They don't make him an a-hole. He's already an a-hole

After reading the update, Becker is better off shutting his damn mouth. He might get more out of what will be an inevitable settlement. He doesn't want to talk about drinking (he has that right, but it's also 99.99999 percent guilt and 17 year old males are SLOPPY drinkers at events like Mardi Gras). He admits to pushing the cop ("not like that" or whatever...still, uniformed or not, you pushed). Shut up, kid. Let your lawyer do the talking. Jesus.
Yea, the kid is not doing himself any favors by giving statements to the media. "I might have laid my hands on him" is not the right answer.
His lawyer doesn't seem to be much smarter. "Alcohol is irrelevant here." Uh, no it's not.

Is is right for a cop to just start punching a kid in the face, or should he have been trying to subdue him?
I could be okay with it if they were standing up and the kid was punching him, but from what I saw, the kid was laying on the ground trying to protect himself and the cop was T-ing off like he was in a bar fight or something

Actually it's totally irrelevant. Underage drinking doesn't require an MMA style beating of a high school kid. The cop has to be the level headed, cool person in that situation. He just wasn't. And the cop said a girl went after his gun while he was fighting with the kid. Dude's totally full of shite.

Not excessive, looked legit.

Typical sociopath wife beating scum with a badge.

At best, they want to do their 12 hours peacefully and go home to the family.

Have not seen the video but have been hearing about the incident. If the kid put his hands on the officer as he states to get him "out of our faces", then IMHO he instigated the incident. Just because he is a minor does not give him the right to try and nut up against an officer

Man, that girl is a screamer...
Posted on 2/22/15 at 8:45 am to LC412000
Wow so if a cop is in your face and you place your hands on him you deserve to be beat to a pulp.....seems fair.
I wonder what happens if you step on his big toe, maybe a shot is warranted in that case.

It is absolutely relevant. It's all about mitigating. It doesn't make what the cop did okay, but it certainly makes the kid a less sympathetic plaintiff, and it certainly is relevant regarding the kids ability to recall what happened.

Was the "kid" injured? I see people saying they hope he gets paid. Just want to know if he went to the hospital.
Posted on 2/22/15 at 9:01 am to Topwater Trout
The nola article said he suffered a fractured cheek bone and a black eye.
