So these days they don't actually have a beer menu...they tell you to look it up on beermenus.com...just a heads up..is this something all the hip places are doing now?

So they assume everyone has a smartphone and want to use their data? Why not just tell people we don't print menus anymore either its on our website?

They tell you that but there are also menus printed floating around. They might not be as up to date as Beermenus but they're adequate if you're too uptight to appreciate a rotating tap selection that a paper menu can't quite keep up with.

I know Bulldog has one of those pixelated squares on every table. When you scan it with your smart phone, it brings you to their menu. Its just part of the mobile world we are moving towards

Going to different cities and experiencing how most of them work, I'd say all bars need to place 2 monitors up that has the current tap list on display. It's easy to update and keep up.
Jax has been saying this for a long time in the FBD threads.
I think making people go online to see the menu is dumb. Yea, I have unlimited data, but some places have extra shitty data service. So it takes me 5 minutes to load a menu, that sometimes itself is out of date.
2 cheap monitors, each an end of the bar, problem solved.

They try and update their rotating taps constantly and don't want to reprint menus every other day, is it that hard to pull up on your phone? I personally like it and can check it before I go to see if they have anything new I want to try.
Some people just search for things to bitch and moan about

The list is about 5 sheets of paper. They used to have a nice laminated binding menu but that costs money every time you change out your selections.
Dam I miss that place. Guinness every Monday @ 11:00am

more irritating than having to go online to look up what beer I want is the obviously impatient waiter/waitress that is taking my order, that has to stand there while I look at the beer selection.

Why not just have it on a big chalk board?

I can't imagine an owner or manager telling the customer or making it a policy to tell the customer to "look it up." How about you find me a beer menu before I break my foot off in your arse. (That's what I would be thinking.)
Frankly, I think this post is BS. If this is true, why not just do the same thing for the food menu. That's because it's a stupid idea.
Having an online menu in conjunction with a printed beer menu is fine and makes sense, but doing away with a printed beer menu all together because it's time consuming or costly. Well, la-di-frickin-da! Welcome to the restaurant/bar bidness. Welcome to something called customer service. Welcome to something called creating a competitive advantage. Welcome to the idea of not making the customer work to give you money.
I can't comprehend Chimes being this stupid. So have my doubts.

I don't have a problem with it. I usually go to beermenus anyway to determine where I want to go
