ok. so its not you. but is it as I describe below?
a man X dates woman of this story, for a long time.
during that time woman is made pregnant by X.
BOTH before and after dating X woman dates person of interest Z.
person of interest Z ends up with the mother, X is out of the picture, but after the birth Z finds out he is not a blood relative.
we are asked, what would WE do if we were in the shoes of Z?
to answer it would help if we knew what you thought we were answering.

I know someone who found out his kid wasn't his when she was 10.
They had broken up and in a fight over custody years later she told him and then they tested.

If it's only been a year, and the child wasn't planned, I'd probably cut ties.
And unfortunately have to fight like he'll to not be on the hook for support.

X dates girl for a while. She cheats on X with Z and doesn't tell X until a month after the baby is born. DNA test rules Z is father.

And they only have been dating for less than a year when she cheats and gets preggers with the cheatee?
I'd be gone faster than a fart in the wind.
If she cheated once that early in a relationship I'm out.
Not to mention she was cheating and not using contraception?? How dumb is she?

I'm glad everyone says that baby looks just like you. If he didn't I would have my doubts

In Alabama if he signed the birth certificate then the state considers him the father and there's nothing he can do about it. They don't give a frick what the dna test says.

You better hope you're not a chimera then.
Some woman lost custody of her kids because a DNA test said they were her husband's...but not hers. Apparently though, she had absorbed a twin in the womb and had reproductive organs with different DNA from her blood.

aint no way. So what your saying is that every perceived father about to sign a birth certificate at the hospital, within a day or so of the baby's birth, needs DNA testing beforehand (don't results take weeks?) to make sure he's the father. Every married or unmarried guy has to have DNA testing done to protect him for the next 18 years.....not buying that one. We're talking fraud, not basic pregnancy entrapment
if he signed BC knowing he was not the father, completely different story. In OPs case where it was reasonable to conclude that he was the father (long-term, supposed exclusive relationship), but was deceived into thinking so, no way that there's no out for that
