makes you wonder how he came up with such a good way to make money, right?

I know
But this doesn't require 5 cops and arresting the guy. I say that regardless of how the arrest plays out. These cops should have higher priorities. All these cops when 1 could have fined him. The rest could have been used stopping real serious crimes.

but he is out in front of a store undercutting the sales of the store owner. It's fricked up. Go do that shite at home. Post on Craigslist.

Sending 5 cops to arrest someone over untaxed cigarettes is what is ridiculous. They should have cited and fined him. He's bein arrested because the cops are being used to generate revenue to such a degree that arresting the guy is deemed the more efficient manner in extracting money from him
once again, if he hadn't broken the law(like he had done at least 30 times in the past) the cops wouldn't be there.

Do you think the store sells loosies?

They used apprehensive force that turned deadly imo. I'd liken this to a car chase where someone is being chased by the police and dies in a car wreck while being chased. No deadly intent by the law but it ends up in a bad way. Bottom line, do what you're told to do by the law and live to see another day in order to go to court with your beef. A court of justice on the streets will almost always end up in a guilty verdict by those administering the justice on the streets.

This isn't about if the cops had a legitimate reason to be there due to his transgressions. The cops are puppets used to generate revenue. They didn't make the laws.
This is about public policy and the ridiculousness of using finite resources to arrest people who sell untaxed cigarettes on an NYC street corner.

Horrible analogy. The police officer killed him. A car wreck didn't. He didn't lose control of his windpipe or carotid. He was killed.

Would the ME rule homicide in this case?
Posted on 12/4/14 at 10:38 am to the808bass
But what the cop did on the video cannot be reasonably considered likely to kill a guy.

chokeholds are banned by the NYPD due to their increased threat to cause bodily harm.

You want a bright line rule, but it doesn't make sense.

Things did not get physical because of illegal cigarettes.
They where the root of the problem. And the police in this case are two stupid to deescalate a situation.

Will New York need more cig tax money to pay for all this new police training?

Great point. Not only are the police in this situation to stupid to not let things get out of control. One of the officers uses a banned practice that contributes to a mans death.

Are ordinary citizens prosecuted for homicides in cases where the actions they performed would not be reasonably likely to kill someone?

I look forward to your evidence on that subject.

"Two" stupid?
You're calling the police stupid when you don't even know how to spell the word "too" correctly?
