I hope the guy lawyered up:
quote:

To determine whether the shooter was justified, homicide detectives were questioning him at NOPD headquarters.

I hope the writer goes back to newspaper-writin' school:

quote:

Amid cold rain, investigators collected evidence at the tidy yellow house.

I'm not sure where I live now. There are gays and art studios so I thought I was safe.

There was a firebombing last week though.

Well, technically, the dead person does need to have actually gotten into the home. You can protect your home with force, including deadly force, to prevent someone from forcibly entering.

So, if dead guy was in the process of trying to break in, homeowner (or lawful home dweller in the home) can shoot him, as long as he reasonably believes that is necessary to prevent dead guy from breaking in.

Not saying that's what happened, just that dead guy not actually getting into the house does not equal non-justifiable homicide.

Oh, and that shite is uptown.

apparently the shooter is a military veteran that returned from Afghanistan.

Haven't heard from Carrollton Tiger in awhile. I hope CT wasn't cleaning his guns again.

I hope they throw is thug piece of shite in jail, if he is guilty.

Based off that article, sounds like a crazy PTSD thug solider got trigger happy and gun someone down with excessive force.

Maybe. Not enough info yet. There'll be time enough for the hanging after the facts are in.

I guess burglars need to be more careful of who they steal from

I know CT was a vet, but I can't imagine he was in Afghanistan.

In Carrollton

Carrolton is Uptown.

Garden District is Uptown

Central City is Uptown.

Jeez why is that the main focus of this thread?

Uptown the area contains all those neighborhoods, including the neighborhood area known as "Uptown"

From Black Pearl to Holly grove, skirting Gert town down to Central city and the LGD all Uptown.

What article?

eta: Do you have any idea what it's like having PTSD? If that's what went on here then it's truly a sad situation.
