Tattoos are a fad, and like mullet haircuts they too will go away. One of the fastest growing businesses on the west coast are tattoo removal clinics, and everything seems to start on the west coast.

I have 14 and make over 200K, when I was in a corporate office in engineering I just wore long sleeves. Yes I work in the oilfield but as a consultant and in an office.

air guard and airlines for me, there was a RIF going on at the time, so I was advised to stick with engineering in case there was a need for a tie breaker, no regrets, CE made me learn how to function under pressure(Bengal 4 nights/week, Caterie, 3 )

No doubt sometimes tats are preferred in the office. When hiring secretaries it is usually best to find the slutiest ones possible and a few visible tats ensures me there will be days she comes in dressed like hooker.

Don't have to tell me that, I'm anti-tattoo
And to the person who said bartenders deal with the public and can have tattoos, you're right. I was referring to careers, not weekend jobs. If you work in an industry where you have to do presentations to potential clients (or current clients), I don't think the tattoo thing would fly, unless you are in some sort of creative field.
I don't believe that most upper level businessmen would look highly upon visible tattoos.

It is completely dependent on where you live. My tattoos do not impact my earning potential or job in anyway here.

I waited til I retired from dentistry before I got my sleeves. I did have one small tattoo while I still practiced, but it was hidden.

Using the terminology "chick" and "tats" says so much about your classiness....I will be sure to take etiquette advice from you.

I have 4. They are visible when I have on short sleeves, which is most of the time. I'm in the top 5% salaries at my job. Jesus man. If u want a tattoo, he one. If you don't, be a badass and come on here and lost how trashy it is. How far u go in life has nothing to do with if you have a tattoo or not. Unless u have one on your face or neck. Then...
