Gonna be fried rice. Rice has been sitting out all day. Bacon, pork chops and the onions, frozen peas and carrots, bean sprouts and water chestnuts FTW

I'm picking up supper.
I got a one meat plate of BBQ for Junior that consists of smoked turkey breast, green beans, baked potato casserole, and a roll. I'm currently sitting at the bar at my local Isabella's Pizzeria having a cold pilsner after an eventful day waiting on a Mediterranean salad and spontaneous BBQ Chicken pie for the mrs and I.

It's honestly nothing fancy. Just cooked all day.

Browned ground beef, ground pork, onion, and garlic last night. Drained and put away until this morning.

Put the meat into my crock pot and let it simmer with like 6 cans of San Marzanos. Seasoned heavily with basil, oregano, bay leaves, garlic powder, pepper, and sugar (i like a little sweetness to it). Let it sit the entire 11 hours I was gone today.

Added a cup of fresh shredded Parm.

It's a basic meat sauce recipe, but simmering all day made it so rich.

I think I like tomato-based meat sauces better than bolognese, and I love bolognese. (I know bolognese has paste, but tomato isn't the star)

Not needed when using San Marzanos.

Bolognese has milk, carrots, celery and onions.

Thyme and fresh basil and fresh garlic are all you need.

Yeah, I didn't do bolognese. It's good, but not as good, I find. I'm not much of a "meat taste" person.
