Welcome to the neighborhood!

Lots of good suggestions already.
A few I didn't see yet:
Ninja is another sushi spot
Bread on Oak is a really cool spot to check for pastries and few sandwiches.
Cote Sud- French/Italian dishes and pizza(Personally never had this place but heard good things)
Jamila's-Tunisian dishes

It's a nice neighborhood with possibly the greatest culinary diversity in town.

Plenty of good suggestions already....but I'll add:
Tartine on Perrier just off of Broadway
Rivershack Tavern on River Road at Shrewesbury (surprisingly good lunch options for a bar)
Crepes a la Cart, Broadway @ Zimpel
Panchita's
Pho Bistreaux (way better than Jazmine down the street)
You're in a restaurant dense 'hood. Enjoy.

This place definitely caught my eye when driving around. Glad to hear it's legit, I love Vietnamese food.

It's ok but not awesome. Banh Mi are their strong point.

Surprising, since pho is in the name

I do enjoy a good Banh Mi from time to time

Pho Bistreaux has the same item...a little sandwich in a steamed bun...only it's called a slider on PB's menu. I like PB 'cause it's cheap, quick, and convenient. Ba Chi is tasty, but more of a sit-down rather than a quick carryout place.

Also worth a look see for quick carryout: the hot lunch line at Robert's grocery (fried chicken, fried catfish), wings at Bayou Hot Wings, and the plate lunches at Frostop on Claiborne near Calhoun.

Best breakfast item in the area, IMHO, is the baked eggs in brioche at Tartine.

Also, La Divina Gelateria is now open on the Loyola Law campus (Broadway at st Charles). It's inside the activities center at the corner of Pine & Dominican.

They do look very doughy. I'll give it a shot though

I'm not sure my body is ready for this food intake haha. I've always been a very slim guy. NOLA will test my limits.
