Kenny is our running back.
His solid and consistent play will be hard for some to handle.

Fournette For Heisman only had 8.
Hilliard got hot in the second half and we rode him.
In the first half, we didn't move the ball. Not a lot of plays.

Gotta quit looking at the box score. Hilliard got the carries. 6 is about the number that the third back of a particular game is going to get for us.

He picked up a blitzer on the pass to Diarse.

Not sure if talked about on here but I think getting LF on kickoffs, to give him more touched and get in the flow of the game, is a great move. He got a little better and faster with each one. Seemed a little tentative at first. To be expected for first game. It would have been nice to see what he would have done if those screens and the pitch weren't so wild.

There will be a lot of riding the hot hand. I expect carries to fluctuate week to week.

Don't get me wrong. I love Hilliard.
Think Miles decided that we couldn't run around WISC so use Hilliard to go through?

I guess the coaches feel Hilliard is a better back. Magee will probably get more carries this weekend.

Look at the old box scores pre-Jeremy Hill. They changed a lot game-to-game. We are a running back by comitte team until someone establishes themselves as the consistent #1. A few guys, Hill and Ridley, have done that. But even then we've always had heavy rotation. In last year's opener against TCU, Magee was kind of an after thought. He got hot and then when rode him for the second half. I expect that in certain games this year he will get more touches than Hilliard or Fournette.

Magee is a great back when we decide to play in space. Once we start getting 3-4 wideouts then Magee will shine. If we decide to line up and pound the ball, give me
Hilliard and Fournette all day. Those guys will get a few more yards than Magee when going up the middle.

I think a lot of folks are overreacting to the carries and production from this first game. Magee, Fournette and Hilliard all had roughly 6-8 carries through three quarters, none of which had any runs worth mentioning.
For whatever reason, the running lanes were enormous in the 4th quarter, and Hilliard just so happened to be in the game at that time. People are looking at Magee and Fournette's final numbers compared to Hilliard's and are painting an inaccurate picture. All three were ineffective for three quarters; Kenny was the beneficiary of enormous holes in the 4th and boosted his numbers overall.

Fournette looks stiff and slow in those larger shoulder pads.

He didn't run very well. He'll bounce back.

We rode the hot hand in Hilliard. McGee will give us some good games and leadership this year. It's one game.
