Liquor, drugs, cigarettes, cigars, fedoras, and smoke filled rooms are all just stuff. And stuff does not make one a man. You want to be a man? Then be responsible for you and yours. Find a good woman and be a good husband. Have kids with her and be a good father. Take care of and be responsible for all that is yours. Protect your family, provide for your family, LEAD YOUR FAMILY. That's what makes you a man.
Do you think it's possible to still be a "man" without having a family? Cause I'm not sure I want kids, but I also don't want to be a pussy. I'm torn.

I hear what your saying FT. I blame the 19th amendment and the designated hitter rule.

Real men don't judge other men, they worry about their own selves and their kin.

Meh, I judge people everyday.
Plus I worry about myself and my kin.
I'm a real man.

At age 61, I have 4 close friends, and we have these conversations all the time. To the OP: gout and look for some men to hang out with. We're everywhere.

bullshite, real men judge other men all the time. They just don't judge them for their religious or political beliefs or wealth or social status. They judge others on their actions. That's the problem with most people today. If you judge someone for their actions you're a self righteous pick who doesn't understand what someone else has been through. But instead we sit here all day and make fun of people for being poor or from the LP or some other inconsequential bullshite. We should actually judge others more than we do, we just need to judge them for the right things.

Simple explanation:
You had a smoking, drunken bullshite artist for a grandpa.

A better question is why we decided it's OK to look and act like shite all the time. Every picture you see of men in the early 19th century they are either suits, button downs, slacks, etc... No matter the situation. Just class everywhere.
Now they looked like this because they came from shite. Then the industrial revolution happened and America became a huge thriving economic world power. And WW1 boosted out status and our egos.
Then the depression and WW2 came along and we realized all of the material stupid bullshite isn't what matters in the world. It's family and friends and your community. Which is a good lesson, however it unfortunately spawned the baby boomers and the hippies.
From them we learned that there is obviously something more important than freedom and love. And that's money. This however turned into the 80s corporate takeover of society. Every aspect was ruled by corporations and greed. Which leads us to the late 90s.
The last time kids were just kids. Technology was a massive bubble but it had not exploded yet. Facebook, cellphones, my space, the Internet, none of that existed and so those of us who grew up in this fantastic period are the one who must grow up now and balance out the world. Because the old people running shite now cannot and will not understand the world their grandchildren are living in and the young people growing up now cannot understand the morals and human decency and work ethic of days before technology.
It is up to our generation to link these two. Past and future. Or the world as we know it will end and these overprivileged, under educated, amoral, cry baby, pieces of shite that make up this next generation will shape the world into some kind of hell.

Would you say the same to Aristotle? Socrates? Plato?

I get where the OP is coming from. I see why my dad always waited for hunting season to come so he could leave to have peace to himself and be with some of his friends sometimes.
Story: me and my friends finally got time to get together and go out for a new hours (we Probally do this once a year). Without our wives/GF's. We went to this restraunt to eat/talk smack/ just catch up on times......our wives followed behind us and decided that "oh, we wanna go out too" and went to the same place as us and sat in a booth about 3 seats away from us.
Talk about pissed off. And then we starting planning on building a secret club house with fingerprint scan entrance.

Your whole reason for existing is to pass on yourself to the next generation though your genes as well as the the way you raise your children into their adult lives. They in turn pass to their kids what you have given to them. Along with this, it's your duty to your family name to see it carried on. Ask yourself this, are you proud of your family name? Do you love your family name? If the answer to these questions is "yes", then you show your love and pride in your family name by making sure it goes forward to the next generation.

Then the fact still stands that you're a worthless latte sipping hipster who knows nothing of the world outside of your Starbucks circle of fellow sissy, socialist cock suckers.
