Seriously, a 20 or 12 gauge is plenty for home defense. No human being is going to walk through a <10 yd shot from a 20/12 gauge 00 buck. And they are easier to get, easier to handle, easier to practice with because the shells are easier and cheaper to come by... I mean, it's a free country so get a 10 gauge if you want one, but don't delude yourself that it's necessary for home defense over a 20 or 12 gauge.

I've got a 10 BPS, no frickin way I'm using that for HD unless it's next to me. I'm using youth 20 with IC, can shoot from hip and swing easily around doors.
I will say this, coming back from turkey hunting I cut in front of the flat bill wearing type in low rider. He chased me down, started cussing, gonna whip my arse etc. Told him to frick off, he pulls up next to me at light gets heated again he leans over to glove box and I tell him he doesn't want to do that, more cussing as he grabs pistol only to look up and see that he's looking down 2" Sch 80 pipe. Bitch took low rider over median. So yeah, the 10 is intimidating.
