I always recommend flushing with solution or using rewetting drops before taking them out in this case.

Yeah I def should have done that. It felt like the contact was duct tape and my eyeball was skin and I "ripped" it off.

Yankee I too may be conceding to getting a pair of glasses also. For 40 years this body has been a fine tuned machine. Over 40 still got all my hair check not much gray either, the peen can still point the heavens on command, still hear great but recently I have problems reading small print up close. Never had this issue until now. The words are blurry so might be time for a pair of glasses. shite sucks but it was a good run

I never liked the feeling, and sometimes I would push them out of position.

Maybe I shouldn't have shared that.

It can happen though. You just relax and blink and it will roll back around eventually(like within minutes)

you could always look into LASIK

If he's 32 and had recent severe visual decline (claims 20/15 in the past, now is bad enough to require correction), he's likely a very poor candidate for LASIK at present time.

I kind of close my eyes and use a finger to move the lenses around a little when they bother me too much. I will now have nightmares of the contacts rolling behind my eyes. I'd rather take another tennis ball to the nose than that.

Might as well check out Coastal while you're at it. Tons of top brands for fairly cheap + frequent coupons and specials.

Actually, I have a set for just that at work and a single set, dark, for driving when my eyes are tired from contacts. Not sure who I inherited these bad eyes from. My dad at 90 had remarkable sight for his age.

It's time. Go get checked, order your glasses and get some sample lenses to try before you buy. It really is amazing how much better you can see. I had no idea my sight was that bad.

What works for you is good. If you find this ineffective, try (after washing your hands) to put your finger directly on your contact, looking toward your nose, sliding your contact over toward your ear to the point that you see the edge pass over your vision/your vision goes blurry because the contact has moved over entirely to the white part of your eye and rub it around a bit (scleral rub). It does wonders. And it does not hurt even a little. Do NOT try rubbing the lens around directly on your cornea (clear part of the eye covering the colored part and black hole in the center).

I have the documentation to back it up... When I joined the Army in '03 I had excellent vision.

Yes. Always. Do not ever rub your eyes. Tugging at your eyelid to stimulate tearing is fine. The scleral rub I explained in my other post is also very effective. But don't ever rub your eyes. If there's something under your eyelid, you can scratch your cornea quite easily. As lsunurse explained, it doesn't feel good.

I've been wearing contacts for 7 years now.

They have only rolled behind my eye maybe 3 times total.

All 3 times were after a night out drinking. Come home and get ready for bed and try taking them out and that happened.

Ok, seriously... Can we stop talking about them "rolling behind your eyeball"?!

Please?!

Aren't I rubbing directly on the cornea with my eyes closed now?

Seriously. Y'all have me a little scared now. Ill try your method from now on. I just wish they didn't always feel squishy.

Yup and then I was subjected to my husband talking like a pirate for an entire day to me because of the homemade eye patch I had made to try and rest my eye.

I didn't mean to insinuate that your claim was false/invalid. I just meant to say given the story "used to have 20/15, now I can't see well" means your vision is worsening. Good LASIK candidates have relatively stable vision. You don't want to cut and reshape a cornea on a changing eye. You want to cut and reshape a cornea on a stable eye.
