I'll bet everything I own that these meals won't be healthy.

I'm hoping it's salad every damn day!
Literally a salad should be all they get.

ITT

All children receive proper meals is a bad thing...

I'm sure you're all good Christians otherwise.

At least it's fair now that all students get the taxpayer funded benefit. If the state is gonna require a kid to be in school then it's not totally illogical that the state should feed the kid while he's there. People expect a lunch during jury duty too.

I think that anyone who sends their kids to a ebrschool should pretty much qualify for everything free. There is no need for the to pay taxes either

At least you know this charity is actually going to be administered as planned. It's not like a student can sell their lunch for money. It is designed to feed kids and nothing else, kind of hard to argue against feeding kids.

frick this. I'm sick and tired of govt enabling people to be freeloaders. I've got no problem helping true indigent families. But we feed everybody. Christ, I've stuffed the bus, fed the need, packed the sack, etc. at what point does charity become enabling?

So the 5% of kids paying for their lunch now get it free?

How much longer until free dinner as well? They probably already get breakfast.

Why does that infuriate you? It is just one meal during the day. Many children go hungry and will get better sustenance than from home.

It isn't ideal, but perhaps it is better than the alternative.

I think it's wonderful. Instead of a war on drugs we need a war on poverty.

And still I see no changes. Can't a brother get a little peace?
There's war on the streets and the war in the Middle East.
Instead of war on poverty,
they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me.

Have you seen the cafeteria lunches lately after Michelle Obamas war on fat kids?

From my understanding, there are a lot more kids bringing lunch from home than there were when I was kid.
