Obviously missed that, bro.

Hard to catch. We are usually close.

Are you saying that feeding kids at school is going to be the charitable action that ruins society

I am against a lot of government give away programs, but if there is one I could agree on it is the one that feeds kids with no ability for unintended abuse.

No, they don't. This is complete and utter BS. How many children in America actually go hungry(absent of criminal neglect)? It's certainly the exception in America, not even close to being the rule.

Yes they do. Is any child going hungry no matter okay with you? It isn't the kid's fault for having crappy parents. I'd rather my tax dollars go to feeding kids than to over blatted middle management government employees.

frick this. I'm sick and tired of govt enabling people to be freeloaders. I've got no problem helping true indigent families. But we feed everybody. Christ, I've stuffed the bus, fed the need, packed the sack, etc. at what point does charity become enabling?

Maybe they should mix in some birth control in those lunches. Abortions should be given for free too to those under the poverty line.

Most of the students in EBR were receiving free lunch anyway...

It's incredible all the hard asses around here who care so much about poor kids getting free lunch. In a lot of situations the free breakfast and lunch from school is all that they get in a day. You can be pissed that they have shite parents....but that isn't the kids' fault.

Appealing to emotion. Nice. No, it's not acceptable, but America has one of, if not the most extensive welfare/nanny states in the world. There isn't an epidemic of children going hungry. Sorry.

I got free lunch when I went to public school in EBR.

We weren't "poor enough" for food stamps or Medicaid....but we did qualify for free lunch.

Don't see why people are up in arms about this.

Sure the system is shite....but I'm not sure the free/reduced lunch program is the part that needs cutting out.

What are food stamps for? Housing? And all the other govt assistance programs for?

And no I'm not against free lunches in schools

It's part of a federal program. EBR isn't the only school district in the state participating.
