I think Fringe did a really good job of gradually

Yeah, as much as Season 1 feels like it doesn't matter in the bigger picture with so many key elements thrown away, it does a very good job of laying the foundation for the show.

Please keep it at 3. Any less and I'll die. I have a hard time keeping in it with just the 3.

I wasn't around yesterday cause I was so pumped about the WC. I'll discuss today big time.

3 is good it is about what I can watch every week, there are times I can watch many more but I think I can get 3 in even on my busiest weeks so keep it at that.

We can keep it at three...just was asking in case the amount of episodes was what was keeping people from participating this week (so far).

got it

may watch episode 7 tonight. Discussion has been slow at times but I guess it is early in the show so there isn't much to chat about.

Next, I agree with a lot of you that pushing "the pattern" seemed like they wanted the show to go one way and then changed the whole thing later on.

While the theme of the show did change, the entirety of season 4 is too answer the "why" of season 1.

Basically the pattern is designed to draw out a cortexiphan kid, give them a reason to begin getting stronger again, and then use that strength to create the new world. The pattern was just weak spots created, while some if the pattern is random, by drawing out the cortexiphan kids the bell of the ball can then use then to punch holes into the fabric of reality to create his utopian world. The weird experiences were to create his utopian race once he got there, which were all created using the soft spots to begin with

If you remember from season 4 it shows all of the experiments from season 1 aboard his "ark" at the end

I thought I caught something either in episode 5 or 6 that made me think of the cortexiphan...drawing a blank as to what it was, but it was something I think Walter (maybe?) said to Olivia.

So are you just a scifi savant who is misusing his photographic memory, or do you research this stuff on fan sites?

Well, I haven't gone to a fringe forum in over a year and a half if that's what you are asking...

Just stopping by to say that I started this show after seeing this thread and 5 episodes in I'm sufficiently hooked. Kinda has a Lost feel to it so far
