I really don't see losing hickey as that huge of a loss with what we have coming in and Hornsby being eligible

I will add in that TQ55, Gray, and Hornsby can all play point guard and shooting guard

I've said this since Quarterman committed to us, he IS NOT nor ever will be a 2. He has absolutely no shot. It was not a fluke him shooting 26.8% from the floor this year and 20.8% from 3, he really is that bad of a jump shooter and JJ needs to get a handle on that. A guy who is a 20% 3 point shooter should be taking 5 threes in a year at most, not 50.

Now his ball handling skills and distributing ability is perfect for the 1 or throw him out at the 3 as a distributor like we did with Temple many times...but he should never, ever, be a 2 in the lineup.

Hammink wasnt contributing

Morgan is coming off a terrible injury

Hickey will be missed. He was limited though, remember the ends of UK and ALA, it kills us to have a point guard who can't penetrate and finish.

If it wasn't 100% Morgan's decision to leave then it is a really bad move.

Hickey getting the boot is shocking to me and I loved watching him play when he was on.

However, maybe the guy just isn't a winner and Jones thought it was better to cut ties now.

I just hope he didn't do damage to the team morale in the process.

Doesn't make it a respectable thing to do. We rag on Saban "processing" kids all the time. I'm not down with it.

While it sucks, basketball is totally different than football. You get 13 scholarships, not 80.

Reports have shown that somewhere around 34% of college basketball players transfer during their college years. It's just the way the sport is. It sucks, but it happens.

It may not have been Morgan's decision 100%, but don't point at our staff to find who else was in on the decision. His AAU coach has been trying to leverage him for a job for two years now, that's why he almost transferred last year.

If anything I see cutting Morgan's scholarship messed up. The guy is a workhorse and gets his knee destroyed putting it all out there for your team. How is he repaid? Being shown the door as soon as the semester is over. Basically saying good luck with rehab, by the way hope you can pay for college yourself.

Of all the guys, Morgan is the one that I think Coach didn't want leaving, but there have always been rumors of him wanting to leave.

Their imaginations. Like South said, we actually wanted him to stay, but he's been mulling a transfer for a while. I think Tulane was a school he had considered.

What is there to find out? He's had his issues with Jones the last two years. Feels like a pretty mutual parting of ways.

EXACTLY

I hate to lose our senior guard but he's stayed in the doghouse. CJJ hasn't publicly given details about his issues over the last 2 years and I'm ok w/ that.

Best of luck to him

His "arrest" was an unpaid speeding ticket from October 2011 that he paid a fine for in June 2013. It's off the books now.

He was never ruled academically ineligible.
