Any recommendations? I've looked at the sportdog 425 and 825.

We have a sportdog for our lab. No complaints. Rarely use it though.

I had a Dogtra when I had my lab, not sure what model. Pretty good collar imo.

Tri-Tronics sport basic G3
Been having it for 2 years. Really like the size of the remote and it has worked well for me.

My chessie has had a sport dog collar on since he could out run me. (About 4 months old) started with an sd-800 and now he has an sd-1625 or whatever it is. You can ruin a dog with a collar but they are good tools when used right

I have the Tri Tronics G3 Flyway. Great collar but I use it on the other dogs more than my lab.

probably won't have to use it very long or often, she already listens pretty well just fine tuning a few things

Have you used pressure in previous training? She needs to understand what the shock is and how to turn it off. As Chessie said, if used incorrectly, you can screw up a good dog in a hurry.
Not preaching, just be careful.

Good advice. Should be fairly obvious but you never know with people.

This is what I have and I like it. It sure stopped my BMC from chasing cars.

Tri-tronics, spend the money they are worth it. I've had mine four several years. Once your dogs learned the collar all you will need is the buzz option.

I've used this, too, it worked great. I inherited my cuz's wild-arse 5 y/o lab who decided he would bark for hours on end his first day at my house. I walked outside with the collar and showed it to him and he must've remembered what it does, because we didn't have any problems after that--I didn't even have to put the collar on him. He just gave me the oh shite look and chilled out.

I have a Tritronics. It works just fine. But as others have said, be sure you know how and when to use it. I had my dog trained. I spent two afternoons with the trainer and my dog before I took her home, so the trainer could teach me proper use of the collar. Those were important lessons. I learned to lay off, when I might have been tempted to use the collar. And I know of a couple of guys, who screwed up what should have been good dogs, because they ddn't know how or when to use the collar.

Sport dog 425 for the money, it's a good collar and has the vibration setting which I use alot. My dog wears it but I rarely zap him
