Best part was no penalty was called. Rules say that is a red card, the kid deserves to be suspended for the next round.

Absurd. If Lusher's coach plays that kid next round it would be a shame. As a father, I wouldn't let him play any more games. He would be writing an apology letter to Episcopal right now.

If anyone is familiar with laprepsoccer go and look at the thread from the Episcopal-Lusher game. Lusher parents are starting to flood the board to try and defend the kid. Funny stuff.

All I have to say is that the referee from BR that did the Jesuit v Sulphur game was garbage.

There was two PK calls for handling when the player's arm was to their side and there was no intent or even advantaged gain from it hitting their arm.

Final score was Jesuit 4 - 1 Sulphur. Sulphur scored first. The PKs were the 2nd and 4th goal for Jesuit. Jesuit was the better team, but you'd much rather the underdog have a chance and not the ref make calls like that.

I'm not defending this kid by any means, and he made a stupid decision BUT, the more I read of this game, episcopal were far from classy as well. Unless you went to the game, sushi, you probably shouldn't jump to conclusions.

I know the coach for Lusher personally and I know he would NEVER condone this player's actions. I'm sure that he will look into disciplinary actions for this player.

Again, I'm am NOT defending him or saying what he did was right.

I was at the game last night, and I will admit that at first the Episcopal fans were acting a little rowdy. However that all ended within 10 minutes of the game. First, a Lusher parent walked over to the Episcopal student section and yelled at them for being disrespectful. Of course it seemed to have no affect, may have even made it worse to be honest. The Episcopal athletic director walked over and talked to the fans a few minutes after the Lusher parent did and calmed them down. Also, just to make sure that they stayed respectful, the athletic director stood in front of the Episcopal student section for the remainder of the game.

Next point. I understand that the kid was under a lot of pressure, and I was impressed because he played a very good game. If any other player on Lusher's team had done this, it most likely would not have caused such a big argument. Two year's ago in the first round of the playoffs Lusher faced Episcopal and it went into overtime, and then into golden goal. Number 18 for Lusher ended up scoring the winning goal. He ran right over to the Episcopal student section and flipped them off in the same way he did last night. This was not a kid "cracking under pressure." He was making a point.

Not one bit. We just couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Uhigh was clearly the more dominant team, but had an unfortunate keeper mistake (what a surprise against Newman) decide the game

Bro Martin - overrated (again). They keep putting them in the top 3 of Louisiana for the last few years but they're just not there. Sorry.

RE: Episcopal

Those kids have entitlement issues, and it's hard to deny. I tutored one of the kids on the team and while his family was very sweet the kid himself needs a strict talking to about what kind of behavior is appropriate for a 17/18 year old.

Additionally, this is, of course, not the first time Episcopal fans have gotten out of hand. Their fans started cursing at our players and yelling threats at our players back when I was in 9th grade. Their whole fan section got kicked out of the game by the BRPD after multiple warnings. Never seen anything like it.

4 years. The proof is in the puddin', dude.

95% of the time a team that can possess and pass around a team at this level will beat a team with a "direct" style. I've watched the same garbage display by UHS 3 times in person.

The results stand. UHS did not do enough to win the game. When it happens 4 times with different players, regardless of individual errors, you have to start looking at the one constant- tactics. I know I'm not going to change your view on this, so we can agree to disagree. That's just how I see it having been a part of the program and having watched the team play in the playoffs several times since then.

I'm not even going to argue with you, since you went to the game and all (I've been to just about every home game this season).

This is a far different team then Chris has ever coached.

I didn't go to the game, and I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not on your part since I said in the Arsenal page that I wasn't going to be making the trip. It was a different team, sure, but was it coached differently? I read the laprep page for it and saw that U-High tended to have the better chances, if maybe a bit less possession, but in the end the result is the same as the last three times. Four if you include the Ben Franklin semifinal loss that I saw. Not sure what else to say

For those interested in the Lusher/Episcopal blow-up, here is the laprepsoccer thread where people are discussing it. LINK
