Use google voice for visual voicemail...it places the voicemails inside your call log. Works great!

I got a 5s after having a gs3. Brought it back in two hours and got the s4. My thumbs just don't work on the iPhone.

I ruined my iphone in a wreck a couple of months ago. Decided to give the new Windows phone a try. DON'T DO IT! That thing sucks arse like nothing else. I hate it.

Solid post. Question: I have always had an iPhone and overall am pretty satisfied. It seems like when I see another brand of smartphone it seems "clunky" and laggy. I'd imagine this is not an issue anymore since the Samsungs seem to get good reviews?

The apps respond well. The home button can be laggy if you don't set it properly. IE, holding it down does one thing, double pressing it does another, etc.

All in all, it's definitely no worse than the iPhone in that regard, but it's not any better either.

TOO BIG. The phone itself is awesome. I love it. I just don't care to put that thing up to my head and make a call. Granted, I'm on the car BT alot, but still.

I actually have 2 5C's on different lines. Walmart had that Black Friday special where they essentially paid me $30 each to buy one. The 5S isn't terrible, but I hate the 5C......and this is coming from a guy who has nothing but Apple products all around the house.

I don't like the build, the plastic, the size, and the design of the OS.

I would suggest you root that thing and go straight nexus-based ROM. I love it.

I like the S4, if I was buying today I'd get the Nexus 5.

Until Google updates the camera I can't pull the trigger on the Nexus 5. I've seen some very good reviews, but they generally all blast the camera. Some say it is a deal breaker, but that it is mainly software, and not the actual hardware. Any nexus 5 users out there?

There was an update for the camera yesterday along with some other minor things. The camera is much improved.

Sign up for the Google Voice service. You will get a 2nd phone number and the voice mail system of Google Voice is way better than the carrier or visual voicemail stuff. Best part is you get a transcript of the voicemail sent to your email. Although it's not incredibly accurate it's accurate enough you don't need to listen to the voice mail 90% of the time.

I just looked at this and I don't want to have to deal with 2 numbers, I saw the video on porting the number also and that is also out. I use Visual Voicemail and don't have a problem.

I have the s3 and beside the screen size, I dont like it as much as the iphone 3gs that i had. The thing that pisses me off the most is that when surfing the internet, if I click back then click on a new link, most times it will either do nothing or bring me back to the link I had just clicked on... unless i wait like 5 or so seconds.

I switched from a iphone 4 to a HTC One X. I hated it and went back to an iPhone 5.

I think my experience was due more to the device rather than the operating system. ATT promoted the hell out of the One X, and then forgot about it and didnt release updates.

I'm very tempted to try a Moto X now that Google bought Motorola. You'll be guaranteed to get updates, and I've always like Motorola phones. Apple needs to do something really big with the iPhone 6.

what more can they do?seems like there isnt much else that can be done outside of improvements to battery life or maybe interface improvements. what is the next technology that will be implemented in a phone?

Thanks for the review.

I'm still carrying a 4s iphone... which I'm not dumb enough to see its weaknesses, but the biggest reason I haven't considered a bigger badder phone is the actual size.

I'm very mobile, literally in and out of my vehicle many times a day, etc. Just can't imagine carrying a larger phone than iphone...

Interesting how phones have changed sizes over the last 15 years...

size is same as 5s basically, os is same... Build is the only visual main difference.
