That's what I am mainly talking about. If they can do the attractions around the stadium right. Build plenty of bar and restaurant options it will enhance the experience ten fold. Id get down there real early for a game and spend time drinking at a bar with Braves fans.

Just heard this, crazy. So if its in Cobb I'm guessing they are going to get Marta over there? When I was living in Marietta Marta didn't go to Cobb county. Will bring an influx of lower income peeps.

the only thing worth a shite over there is that BBQ place between the Ted and the interstate

Assuming they get the traffic congestion fixed and MARTA station built, this is an absolutely awesome move by the Braves.

This is an interesting question. In the past, when there have been proposals to expand MARTA into Cobb, the Cobb residents strongly opposed the idea and those proposals never got traction. Moving the Braves to the area, though, might be able to sway opinion on that.

they could have a mcdonalds and some dive bar next to this new stadium, and it would already be a better experience than currently.

exactly. Like it cannot be said enough how terrible of a location Turner Field is and how much better the new area is.
The fact of the matter is that no one was willing to pay for public transportation or a better surrounding area around Turner Field. The ceiling has been reached at Turner Field as far as revenue is concerned.

So when are the Hawks leaving Philips Arena? It's 14 years old, so it must be time for an upgrade.

I don't think it will be a question of swaying opinion. They'll probably just tell them they are getting MARTA, so DWI. Building a train station there is the only way to make it feasible.

Not a fan of this, but I'm a bit biased as I hate the fricking suburbs.
What happened to the idea of building up the areas around the parking lots with bars and stores?
If they're going to do this, there has to be a plan to build a MARTA line up to there because people from Downtown, Midtown, etc are not going to fight traffic to get up to the fricking suburbs for game during rush hour.
ETA: Guess all of this has been covered ITT.

I wonder if we can get a sponsored stadium, which would allow for additional income to increase payroll

Home Depot is like 5 minutes away, they would be dumb not to take advantage.
