There are a lot of rounds being discharged into the shooters' feet here.
Hill createds this mess and will have to deal with his repsonsibility for immediate responses to passionate, emotional impulses.
Mathew Harris's wounds, however, were self inficted while sitting calmly at a keyboard at work.
The first time Hill carries the ball this fall for LSU (and he will) will erase any remaining sliver of credibility this guy has. He is a dead journalist walking ...

Not to mention the gas station incident.
This. And BRPD shows up and writes a fricking citation.

I do believe too much pressure is applied by somebody to police football players.
Fights happen every night in BR at LSU and southern, seems LSU players are the only ones that things get this blown up.
It's really amazing.

Anybody have the time to see how many misdemeanors Matt Harris has? Maybe he should be done

No, discipline. Inform them that if any weird shite happens, they will lose their privileges of playing for the LSU football team. I understand some are uncontrollable like Aaron Hernandez, but if a coach can't keep control of at least the main starters each season, then we are destined to be in decline. Lay down the law, and I think most people will be surprised at how quickly the message will settle in.
Destined to be in decline the man says! We are screwed now.
This could perhaps be the worst opinion ever. There are bad apples in every bunch my man and if you think Miles should control them all then you are crazy. Also, you can only discipline to a certain extent and so far, based on laws, Miles has done a pretty decent job letting go of some big names that other coaches probably would try and keep.
Eta - did you really say lay down the law? Lol

Posted by NeverRains I can't believe we have to go through every offseason and hear this shite. I'm really starting to get pissed at Miles for this. He's a good coach, but this is unbelievable. It's always someone new each year.
Miles? How about Hill? So you want Miles to ignore these guys in recruiting? The first time one of these studs goes to Bama because we ignored them and excels on the field there, this board melts down. It's almost no-win for Les. Just put the blame where it belongs. Let it play out and lets see what happens.

I absolutely cannot believe how the LSU football program is treated in BR. At most big time programs shite like this would just run it's course and you would barely hear about it. Not in BR. What other big time programs have their own students targeting football players? ADA's trying to send a kid to jail for a fricking bar fight? Newspapers convicting people in articles? This shite is unbelievable.
Poor LSU football
Are you fricking kidding me?

Yeah poor LSU football. Where was the outcry when that family got beat down at the gas station? Why didn't we get a fricking comment from Hillar's office on that one?

You should probably read something other than just the Rant. It will enlighten you.

Where's all the outrage over the dude who was murdered in the parking lot with his kid watching?
I'm not givin Hill a pass but the scrutiny put on this program comes across as a bit much. Racial slurs and fights happen pretty often in BR and other places and its never news

Douches like this guy are just upset at stuff like game day traffic keeping him from k mart. You can't step back, take a good look, and feel like J Hill is getting anything but heightened treatment. ADA grandstanding is shameful. Don't re elect the DA

This is what one might call "selective memory." Google's your friend if you use it, within a minute you'll find Hillar's comments to the Advocate about the Chevron attack.
This is a risk LSU knowingly accepted when it allowed Hill to sign a NLI after he was put on probation. This sort of outcome was always possible.
Again, people, this is probably nothing if Hill was not on probation. It would be just another bar fight among LSU students and it would be a note for the football beat writers and perhaps we would speculate on whether Miles would start Blue against TCU because of the bar fight.
But this is not about the bar fight. It's about the sexual assault charge, the plea deal to a misdemeanor, a sentence of probation and a violation of said probation.
The question now is, does the court look at this as simply a violation of terms of probation in a misdemeanor case, or does it look at it as violation of terms of probation in a case that was originally a serious felony sex crime charge, plead down to a misdemeanor?

And it took a public outcry because the fricking police dept. showed up, the guy was pointed out by multiple witnesses an GIVEN A frickING CITATION!! Yet, Hill gets fricking arrested at his house hours later.

What he was originally charged with has NO BEARING in the eyes of the court.

Is this in theory or in practice?
Is there discretion allowed on the part of the prosecutor or the judge on this. Or are they strictly forbidden to consider the original charge?
I honestly don't know the answer. In the big picture, I would hope they would be able to consider the original charge in these kinds of cases. At the same time, I'd hate to see Hill get crucified here too.
