Looking for places to eat in N.O./Metro Area that most people do not know about?

DISCLAIMER:First time posting on this board. I did a search and did not find anything besides the local food challenge and that is not what I am looking for.
I am so tired of eating the same places and am looking for some new suggestions to start trying. Doesn't really matter what type of food and price doesn't really matter either. Me and the wife go on at least two dates a month and I really want to start changing it up.
Any ideas are appreciated and would love to hit a new place this Wednesday. Thank you.

What are the same old places?
There are gazillions of restaurants in Nola. Help us out a little.
Have you been to Peche or Tableau yet? Geautreau's? Done any Chef's tables? That can be different, but some places have a minimum number of guests.

Never heard of Peche or Tableau.
Eta: Kinda sad but we always eat at the same places. Been like that since I was a kid. I would bet good money that I have been to Deanies more than anyone else in its existence. Just the way my family was.

Peche is utterly delicious in every aspect. Go immediately. Haven't been to Tableau. It's a Brennan's spot. I'm sure it's at least decent .. maybe too pricey for the quality though.
Haven't heard of those two .. I question if you have actually heard of many of the good restaurants talked about on here frequently. If not, here's a quick shortlist.

Yea. For like 6 months we only went off the NOLA restaurant guide for places to eat. About 2 months in realized its only touristy places that I can easily cook better than but kept doing it just to change it up. Well that was about a year ago and I am sick of the same ol same ol again.

I hear ya man. Props on recognizing that. Some folks eat like that their whole life. Get out there and try anything and everything you can. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. This board has some sharp folks who know a lot about good New Orleans eating.

Buy the muffuletta at Casey Jones
Go get the the roast beef or shrimp poboy from the Derbigny Food Store
Go to the Banaana Blossom if you like Thai
Check out Cafe DiBlasi for eye-talian
Go see Vincent's or Yard Arm for boiled seafood

Don't feel bad. When I first moved there I had absolutely no clue what was out there food wise. This was before this internet thing, so aside from AAA tour guides and Zagot books from the local library, it was hit or miss. I'll never forget my first meal in New Orleans, which was on Bourbon Street. It was a place called the Tricou House (sp?). There was a woman in a hooped dress standing outside showcasing their menu. We were stumbling along Bourbon Street and decided to give it a whirl...looked authentic...probably the sorriest meal I've ever eaten in Nawlins.

Ha I've lived here my whole life, granted it hasn't been that long of one, and there are plenty of places in this thread I have never been to. In a place like NOLA you have to remind yourself that your insert regular spot isn't always the answer.
Just some random places I enjoy but aren't listed
Cafe Ninos- dumpy spot, but solid pizza and if you're craving sloppy italian that's pretty good. Cash only.
Adams St Po Boys- Big po boy's for the cheap and they are solid. A to go place.
Crabby Jacks- One of my favorite po boy spots, they give you a lot of whatever you order.
R &Os- Solid food all around.
Radostas- In Old Met but they are worth a try, Po Boys. I'm partial to Joan's or Wayne's Special.
Casementos- Next to Ms Maes on Magazine. Best fried seafood I've had here. Cash only.
Buds broiler....Haha I enoy their burgers but a lot of people will hate on them, go once if you haven't been. I recommend the #4 with sauce and double patties then get an extra sauce on the side for your chili cheese fries...I fricking love that sauce if you can't tell. They have a few locations around the city, Calhoun/claiborne, Mid City.
Higher End Spots:
Clancys- By the park uptown, great food can't go wrong.
Brigtsens, Dantes Kitchen- Both are are by Camelia Grill.
If someone doesn't hit something I think of I will update later.
