Yea I checked their site but I did not see that specific size. What does every one else use for picnic taps?

I'd maybe call them. If not, call up Cuban Liquor, they may have some. Or maybe even go to Home Depot or lowe's.

New Question. I'm probably going to start kegging soon. I'm getting tired of washing and filling bottles with every brew.

In my garage i have a chest freezer i use for fermentation control, and a beer fridge to store my beer. The freezer is attached to a temp Controller.

I've wrestled with this in the past. Do i simply convert the chest freezer to a keezer, and buy a small fridge for fermentation or do i just buy a small 2 tap kegerator, or convert a small fridge to a kegerator.

Keezer
Pros: Would be able to have multiple taps. Will start off with 2. Only material costs would be for upgrading it. Can make it look really nice.
Cons: Lose fermentation space. Though it hasn't happened yet, if i brewed 2 brews at the same time, i'd only be able to ferment 1 at a time in a small fridge.

Kegerator
Pros: will be able to keep my current setups as is. Still have the chest freezer for single or multiple fermentations at one time.
Cons: Won't look as nice as upgrading the Keezer. Limited to only 2 taps (which honestly is more than enough).

I think i'm leaning kegerator, just seeing what the fellow homebrewers opinions are.

How big is the beer fridge? If it's big enough I would use that as a kegerator and still use the freezer as a fermentation chamber.

Shoot them an email, tubing moves pretty fast so they may have some and it's just not back on the site.

It's a full size over under fridge. But that thing is packed with beer. I need that fridge for beer space. The entire bottom shelf is 3/4 full with beers aging. The top shelf is almost full too. However, i could probably toss 50% of the beer up there. A lot of old stuff i wasn't crazy about.

Update: Since the last posting, nearly half of beer fridge is empty. I think i bruised my liver this weekend.

Wait for primary fermentation to stop. Then rack in secondary. Fermentation will not stop when you secondary, in fact, a secondary fermentation may begin due to the residual yeast being sucked up into the fermenter and the sugars from the fruit being fermented. But it won't be that much fermentation. At least not with blackberries. I may get an additional 2 points of fermentation (hydrometer at end of primary 1.014, at end of secondary, 1.012) but it won't be substantial and your beer would be fine.

shite, i racked an american wheat on 5lbs of strawberries on friday and had a full on blow-off requiring secondary fermentation. strawberries were attempting to escape. its just sinking back down now. was in primary for 2 weeks

I've done my blackberry wheat twice. Both times, had a mild secondary reaction. I also racked onto frozen blackberries. Had just enough krausen pop up to cover the blackberries for a day or 2, then it went back down. Didn't affect gravity too much, though.

I was hoping to use my kegerator as storage for bottles and cans too but it's not quite big enough. I have one shelf that I filled with cans and "aging" beers. Will empty it this week so I have extra room for the kegs.

probably wouldnt have needed the blowoff but i racked it into a 5 gallon secondary so it didnt have alot of headspace to work with

Finally getting around to posting the brown ale recipe for rds.

10 lbs pale malt
12 oz crystal 120L
12 oz chocolate malt
4 oz black patent
1 oz East Kent Goldings 60 minutes
1 oz Liberty 15 minutes
1 oz Williamette 5 minutes
English Ale (WLP002)

It's on the dark side for a brown ale, but I'm OK with that.

I need to check the gravity on my pale ale tonight. Ready to dry hop so I can drink it this weekend.

Will be only the second beer I have named, Clusterfrick Pale Ale, after the clusterfrick that brew day was.

Just from my experience if you're doing major hop or fruit additions buckets are a life saver.

I've never used the bucket, except for bottling. I just feel like it would lead to easy contamination. That and i can't see my beer working in a bucket.

I do think cleanup would be incredibly easy, however.

Have fun with that. Dry hopping and adding fruit is something I always do in a bucket or big mouth bubbler. PITA otherwise.

I've got a few better bottles if I really want to see fermentation.

You're exactly the type of homebrewer that Northern Brewer is marketing their big mouth bubblers to.
