I have 'an idea', you put the recipe in the OP.

It's cool. I was just makin' a little joke about the 'trail' thingy. Look, I've made shrimp and grits in an almost identical manner, with the shrimp deveined and without. I like the deveined better. It's just another 2 minutes of work, and I don't get a grit feeling or taste when I bite down onto a shrimp.

It's just a personal preference, that's all. You're dish looked great. Probably oughtta cut the grass though.

Looks awesome! Shrimp and grits may be my favorite meal.

My wife just made some last weekend, with a similar recipe. She added smoked gouda and goat cheese to the grits.

<------------------

Will be using this recipe. I do devein my shrimps though. There is only one dookie chute I take a ride on.

I'll try cutting the cream back also.

Make your grits with chicken stock for added flavor!

And I don't use the whipping cream. I just reduce mine with rotel tomatoes and water. This is my usual pre race dinner

That looks alot like my version that I cooked last night. Only differences are I used diced tasso and no bell pepper. I will try the sausage method next time. BTW Conecuh(SP) sausage is awesome

There is no one "best" method for any of these dishes. Folks do what they like and what pleases them.

If you can find it, Conecuh makes a Cajun flavored sausage that is nice for these. They don't always have it - depending on what grocer you use, but yes we almost always use Conecuh sausage. BTW, Tasso is hard to find here. I usually sub Ham chunks for Tasso by necessity.

When recipe calls for Chitlins I usually go with a peanut butter sandwich.

Looks great, MD. IWEI.

And deveining that size shrimp is not worth the fuss. I only devein big shrimps for grilling. It's not like all of us haven't peeled shrimp from a boil and gladly consumed the tail vein and all.
